ON COLLABORATING The different forms of working and thinking together and to develop projects in collaborations have been a major subject in my artistic practice for the last couple of years. I worked in various constallations and collaborations - in the field of performance based on textual concepts together with Ariane Koch and with Stingray Editions in the context of writing, editing and printed matters. With the Argentinian artist Jimena Croceri I recently realized a new series of performances connected to the issue of water(politics), hydrofeminsim and fluidity. The project «Hidden Poems» where artists from Argentina and Switzerland worked with the library of Victoria Ocampo in Buenos Aires was presented with Isabel Peña and Kambiz Shafei. Being inspired and shaped from the thoughts of Céline Condorellis rich philosphical discours on friendship and support structures, one could say that friendship is about allegiance and shifting. You choose who you want to be with and by doing so you choose them and their ideas, works and projects, it does mean that you are making a decision, which is inherently of a political nature. In friendship is an element of taking sides, of making common cause, a sense of solidarity, or being loyal and not just to the people, but to the cause they embrace. I see friendship as a support, as an essential potential for a political, feminist and collaborative form of work and as something that tries to form solidarity apart from patriarchic structures. I am interested in the artwork as a situation and if it’s historically represented by a memory or a relic. Mostly my projects are documented with posters, books, concepts, publications, conversations or the performed text itself. At the moment I am exploring different and new angles to continue working in collaborations but also following my own projects and interests. Through my residences in Buenos Aires and Bogota my thinking and therefore also my artistis practice has been influenced by these places and the people I have met there. I am currently investigating the water issues and water politics mainly in Chile and Switzerland to continue my research with fluid conditions, feminist approaches in connection with water themes and also the influences of water in our ways of acting and thinking.

NOSOTRXS, CUERPOS DE AGUA with Jimena Croceri Performance 2018/2019 Crispr Bogota, 2018, FLORA, Bogota, Open Studios, ARTBO, 2018, Material Zürich, 2019, Cabaret Voltaire, Zürich, 2019, Raven Row Gallery, London, 2019 For the performance «NOSOTRXS, CUERPOS DE AGUA» Jimena Croceri and Sarina Scheidegger have been developing a variety of sounds and noises coming from different sources like objects, recordings, live voices and texts. All of them connect in their own way to fluid conditions which are among others inherent in our bodies, the sea, (sound) waves or coconuts. Not only are these fluids inherent in our bodies but moreover share parts of each other between them. Being inspired by the text «Bodies of water» by Astrida Neimanis - where she describes the pathway of a glass of water and how this glass of water we drink makes its way to the filtration plant towards hydroelectric power to an aquifer until it ends in a bottle of water from which we may drink again – the artists have tied their elements of the performance to this fluidity and the movement of liquids. A LA CIUDAD Performance & poster edition, 2018 La Casita, Bogota, 2018 Public Space, Bogota, 2018 During the residency at «FLORA ars + natura» in Bogota, I developed the piece «A LA CIUDAD» which combines a performance and a poster serie in the public space. I began with a research at the biblioteca nacional in Bogota about their archived collection of posters and printed matters relating to open readings and lectures which were made during the 19th and 20th century in the public space. The reading and spreading of news in an oral form was very common as the access to newspapers was restricted and reserved for the wealthy class. Relating to the term «Ecumenopolis», which describes a single continuous worldwide city or the planet to become completely urbanized, I am interested in the question of how cities are more and more alike or becoming one. The texts or rather questions and observations in the project «A LA CIUDAD» were written in Bogota, but some of them can also be detached from their initial origin (if they ever had one). They are adressing a city, a city which is merged from more than one and which has no single location anymore. The performance was held with five performers relating to the lectues in the public space (mentioned above) and reading the texts with a megaphone. Performers: Karina Barbudo, Manuela, Felipe Moreno, Laura, Alejandra Casanova Poster design: Kambiz Shafei Silkscreen: Sarina Scheidegger & Collectiv Rat Trap
ROSA & LOUISE - A Feminist Manifest in Dialogues with Ariane Koch Performance & poster edition, since 2013 Haus der Kulturen der Welt (Berlin), Espace Niki de Saint Phalle (Fribourg), Kocherpark (Bern), Well Well Well (Wien), Haus für elektronische Künste (Basel), Plattform 16 (Zürich), Luzerner Theater (Luzern), Kunsthaus Langenthal (Langenthal), Kunstmuseum Solothurn (Solothurn), Kunstraum Niederösterreich (Wien), Pavillion Pro Helvetia Kaserne (Basel), Theater Is A Must (Alexandria), Kaserne Basel (Basel) The examination with the structures of the feminist discourse constitutes the foundation of the manifest which is continuously rewritten by Ariane Koch and Sarina Scheidegger. The version I-X of the dialogic piece were shown in different stages and contexts as a performance — spoken by two performers — and as poster edition — exposed in the public space as well as in the exhibition space. In 2018 the work was modified with two artists from Egypt as well as one performer from Switzerland and shown in the theater context, this collaboration and exchange with different views let to a presentation at Kaserne Basel in 2018. Performers: Sophie Brunner, Ana Castaño Almendral, Anna Christen, Judith Cuénod, Sima Djabar Zadegan, Moïra Gilliéron, Sherin Hegazy, Lilli Lorenz, Susan Reznik, Salma Said Poster design: Kambiz Shafei Silkscreen: Silas Heizmann, Collectiv Rat Trap

OPPRESSED BY PRIVILEGED / PRIVILEGED BY OPPRESSION Performance & vinyl edition Ausstellungsraum Klingental & Kunsthalle Basel, 2017/2018 OPPRESSED BY PRIVILEGE and PRIVILEGED BY OPPRESSION were the names of two bands performing their inaugural concert at Ausstellungsraum Klingental in June 2017 – simultaneously. Previous to any rehearsals and in accordance with democratic principles, the public was invited by an open call to submit texts in response to the respective band names. The two bands used the submissions as the raw material to adapt and interpret musically and later present it on stage. All original texts are compiled within a publication. In 2017 each band recorded three songs and they were released in vinyl with the label «A Tree in a Field Records» at Kunsthalle Basel in 2018. STINGRAY EDITIONS with Kambiz Shafei since 2015 Stingray Editions was founded 2015 in Basel by Sarina Scheidegger and Kambiz Shafei as a platform for varying editions with an emphasis on collaborations with artists, writers, musicians and scientists. Stingray Editions develops several projects in a multitude of shapes, dimensions and contexts. At the heart of these collective collaborations, lies a dialogue which defines the format of each edition individually. The divergent forms of these editions reflect the nature and character of the stingray itself – a creature which can alter and adapt without losing its existence. We realized several projects in the last three years working and collaborationg among others with: Nino Baumgartner, Eduardo Navarro, Judith Kakon, Sophie Jung, Louise Guerra, Delphine Chapuis Schmitz, Anahita Razmi, Ariane Koch, Nicolas Raufaste, Raphaela Grolimund, Nele Stecher, Martin Chramosta, Pedro Wirz, Silas Heizmann, Clare Kenny, Hannah Weinberger, Jimena Croceri, Rodrigo Toro Madrid, Vanessà Heer, Caroline Ann Baur, Johannes Gerome Gadient, Romy Rüegger and many more. Here documented is the poster serie «Stingray Encounters», 2017, and the exhibition project «Within Others‘ Sounds», 2019.
