DEAN WILLIAMSON This Bank Holiday sees League action return to the Lane today as we welcome our visitors Corinthian Casuals. It’s our second game in three days, something that would have many a Premier League manager moaning! But this is non-league football, the heart of the game, and we wouldn’t want it any other way. It amazes me the effort and commitment required by players at our level of the game, with two intense training sessions and a match they are with us three times a week while balancing work/education and family commitments. One player that showed such dedication was Jason Hallett. You will have read last week that Jason has moved on, and I would personally like to thank Jason again for everything he has given this football club. His currency was goals, and there were none Enjoy The Match today better than Jason. He had a great attitude on and off the pitch COYA ! and was deservedly a fan’s favourite. We all wish him the very best and look forward to n seeing him in the clubhouse soon. Our football journey continues as we take our De a club forward. I’m as optimistic as ever and enjoying our time in the Isthmian Premier. I hope you are too. PERFECTION AS STANDARD www.lwdevelopments.com ONE COMMUNITY. ONE CLUB AMBERS

I trust we are not going to sets of fans talking with each other about the start building up an injury list, Ash is a big match and the season ahead after the loss, and Fabz will be too, but this is why game was a pleasure. we operate with a squad, and I will be looking for the replacements to stake a I was very pleased with another clean sheet, claim to a start we have only conceded one goal in three games now, and that was due to an error we have all learned from. Looking Back........ Ambers Historian Jim Tuite has a look at Cheshunt, the Corinthians, the Casuals and the great split. Whist the history of today's visitors, Corinthian Casuals, is well recorded and celebrated, football has almost entirely forgotten the original Cheshunt Club who existed for fifty years until their demise in 1931. Yet for a few seasons they stood shoulder to shoulder with the great Edwardian gentlemen clubs, the Corinthians and the Casuals, as they tried to make a stand against professionalism in football. All three clubs were formed within a few years of each other - Cheshunt in 1881, Corinthian in 1882 and Casuals in 1883.
