When you’re doing your research to identify the right vehicle, a deep dive into features, specifications, and trim levels is the best way to ensure you’re making the right call. To make this type of extensive research easy, check out this eBook: Buyer’s Guide to the Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Grand Cherokee has long been a favored option within the Jeep lineup. It displays rugged athleticism, comes in a wide variety of trims, and allows you to customize aspects of its performance. After you’ve finished this eBook, contact your local Jeep dealer for a test drive! PERFORMANCE YOUR WAY One of the most advantageous aspects of the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee is its well-rounded and customizable performance. If there’s a specific way you want your Jeep SUV to drive or a specific amount of power you want to have at your disposal, the Grand Cherokee likely has an offering for you! 1
Four Impressive Engines The sheer power of the four motors offered in the Jeep Grand Cherokee is enough to turn heads. This power easily translates into practical usage, too, as the SUV has a robust maximum towing capacity of 7,200 pounds. Here are each of the four available motors and the type of outputs they produce: • 3.6L V6 making 295 horsepower, 260 lb-ft of torque, and a maximum towing capacity of 6,200 pounds • 5.7L HEMI® V8 making 360 horsepower, 390 lb-ft of torque, and a maximum towing capacity of 7,200 pounds • 6.4L SRT® V8 making 475 horsepower, 470 lb-ft of torque, and a maximum towing capacity of 7,200 pounds • Supercharged 6.2L V8 making 707 horsepower, 645 lb-ft of torque, and a maximum towing capacity of 7,200 pounds Which of these impressive motors delivers the best fuel economy returns? That would be the 3.6L Pentastar® V6, which checks in at an EPA-estimated 19 city MPG/26 highway MPG. TURNING PERFORMANCE INTO OFF-ROAD EXCITEMENT So with access to all these exciting engines, you know your SUV will have the strength to conquer rugged terrain. There’s more to off-roading than brute power, though, and nobody knows that better than Jeep. The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee is as ferocious off-road as it has ever been. To start, you’ll want to pick the 4X4 system that best fits your lifestyle. Perhaps the most impressive is the Quadra-Drive® II 4X4 system, which features a rear electronic limited-slip differential and an optional Quadra-Lift® Air Suspension system. The limited-slip differential helps distribute power to the appropriate tires so you can maintain traction in all sorts of scenarios. The air suspension can actually raise the ground clearance of your SUV to 10.8 inches, helping you scale over rocks, debris, or other obstacles. Thanks to high air intakes and special water sealing, your SUV can also traverse through 20 inches of water with ease. The technologies to help you explore the wilderness only expand from there. An available Select-Terrain® Traction management system lets you instantly adjust the driving dynamics of your SUV to better handle ever-changing terrains. A few other off-roading inclusions are: • High-strength steel skid plates to protect the underbody of your Jeep Grand Cherokee • All-Terrain Kevlar-reinforced tires • Available red tow hooks for towing functionality 2
AS MUCH SAFETY AS YOU’D LIKE If you haven’t recognized it yet, customizability is a theme for the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. From performance to off-roading ability and safety, the SUV is always working to deliver the exact features and abilities you want. There are three setups of safety and driver-assistance technologies you can choose from: Protech I, Protech II, and Protech III. Here’s a list of the features each setup provides: • Protech I comes standard on all Jeep Grand Cherokee trims and includes the following: Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path Detection, ParkSense® Rear Park Assist, and ParkView® Rear Backup Camera. • Protech II is available on the Laredo and Laredo X trims, and it includes Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking, Advanced Brake Assist, LaneSense® Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist, and Auto High-Beam Headlamps. • Protech III is standard on High Altitude, Summit, SRT, and Trackhawk, and it features Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking, Advanced Brake Assist, LaneSense® Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist, and Rain-Sensing Windshield Wipers. There’s a lot going on here, but essentially, you can pick how much automated involvement you want your SUV to have. So the Protech I setup will help you move around tight areas by alerting you to vehicles that may be moving into your path as you reverse. It also provides improved vision through the rear backup camera. Going with Protech II ramps up the on-road safety with features like Forward Collision Warning. In addition to alerting you of a potential accident, the active braking park of Forward Collision Warning will automatically stop the vehicle if a collision seems likely. Protech III is the most advanced and can do everything from helping you avoid collisions to helping you stay in your respective lane. Parallel and perpendicular park assist is an automated parking feature, which really comes in handy for anyone living in an urban area! 3
IN-CABIN PASSENGER AND CARGO ROOM Before talking about the style and technologies within the cabin of the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee, it’s important to first mention how much room this SUV provides. Legroom is certainly a strength in each row, as the front offers 40.3 inches and the rear offers 38.6 inches to stretch out in. The tall roof of the Jeep Grand Cherokee creates ample headroom in the front, 39.9 inches, and the rear, 39.2 inches. A few other passenger measurements of note include: • 57 inches of front-row hip room • 56.2 inches of second-row hip room • 58.7 inches of front-row shoulder room • 58 inches of rear-seat shoulder room Then there’s the matter of cargo capacity. You can arrange the interior in one of two ways to alter the cargo space to your needs. By leaving the second-row seats upright, you have 36.3 cubic feet of space to work with in the trunk. If you require more room, fold those second-row seats flat, and you’ll have a maximum of 68.3 cubic feet of cargo capacity to use! IN-CABIN TECHNOLOGIES More and more, infotainment and other in-cabin technologies are coming to define the buying preferences of drivers. If you prefer the cabin of your next SUV to offer a boatload of new-age features and connectivity options, the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee should be on your shortlist. It all starts with the infotainment interface, which is the available Uconnect® 4C setup coupled with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. Essentially, these systems work to link your smartphone to the vehicle in a variety of ways. Once linked up, you can use the integrated voice command system to access smartphone applications directly on your 8.4-inch touchscreen display. You can have text messages read to you, you can quickly start listening to your favorite podcast, or you can get easy directions to a new restaurant. Another level of connectivity comes from the available SiriusXM Guardian™ technology. Once you’ve got your phone synced to the SUV, you can utilize any of these remote features: • Start your vehicle remotely to warm up the cabin on a chilly evening • Use your smartphone to find your vehicle in a crowded parking lot • Receive vehicle health reports about key services your SUV might need over time Then you have the recent inclusion of the optional Jeep® Skill for Amazon Alexa. Pairing your SUV to Amazon Alexa allows you to utilize the smart in-house system right from the cabin of your SUV! 4
SOME INTERIOR NICETIES Picking from the host of trim levels we’ll be talking about in the next section is how you create a cabin filled with the exact styling options you want. There are some specific features that are worthy of their own mention, however. One of these features is certainly the CommandView® dual-pane panoramic sunroof that stretches into the second row. While your children stare up at the open sky, they can also be listening to their favorite music courtesy of the optional Alpine® premium audio system featuring a 12-channel, 506-watt amplifier, nine speakers, and an 8-inch subwoofer. CHOOSING YOUR TRIM LEVEL Finally we arrive at the many trim levels of the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. These variations of the SUV ensure you’re driving off the lot with a model catered exactly to your wants and needs. The base trim for 2021 is called the Laredo E and is quickly followed by the Laredo X. From there you have the Limited, Trailhawk, and Overland. Rounding out the list is the following quartet of trims: • High Altitude • Summit • SRT • Trackhawk 5
