Examinations • Opportunity to show what you have learned in the workplace • Plan for when you will attempt exams • Complete MRCOG Part I or equivalent before sitting MRCPI Part II • Feedback is available from MRCPI clinical exams • Pass MRCPI for BST Certification • Entry requirement for HST • Auto enrolled to Exams course on The RCPI website once you secure an exam place. Two components in the MRCPI O&G exam • 100 Single Best Answer Questions • 3 hour exam Part 2 Written • OSCE: Seven stations, 10 minutes each Part 2 OSCE • Clinical exam: One long clinical case, 40 minutes /Clinical Exams 6

BST O&G Assessments • Years 1 and 3 are normally assessed in Nov/ Dec annually • Year 2 is normally assessed in late Jan/ early Feb annually Structure: NSDs conduct a formal review of your clinical performance using trainer input, plus thorough scrutiny of your ePortfolio entries • Progression is dependant on a satisfactory outcome • Year 2 assessment is combined with Year 3 recruitment interview (competitive entry) • Where the outcome is ‘not progressing’ remedial measures will be recommended followed by an interim assessment Assessments 22

Certification, To qualify for a Certificate of Completion of Basic Specialist Training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, you will need to satisfy the following exit criteria: • Ensure all of the Minimum Requirements listed in your curriculum have been met • End of Post Assessment Form signed by each of your trainers in your ePortfolio • Pass the MRCPI O&G examination • Upload a copy of your MRCPI Diploma to the your ePortfolio • Upload copies of your mandatory course certificates to your ePortfolio 27
