More than 500 store managers, field staff, A.F. Blakemore colleagues and suppliers attended the conference and gala dinner at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on 14th and 15th June. Blakemore Retail’s management team took to the stage alongside colleagues from A.F. Blakemore and representatives from the NSPCC and Deliveroo to present on the company’s key achievements from the last financial year and development plans for the future. The Future Leaders programme was originally established in 2015, with the two year course aiming to equip delegates with improved operational and behavioural skills and capabilities as well as a wider knowledge of Blakemore Retail. The group of Future Leaders was formed in March 2015 after a robust recruitment process. At that time, the five members were all area managers. The two year programme concluded in March this year with the group spending time at SPAR Central Office in Harrow, London, where they delivered presentations to their peers and colleagues including SPAR UK’s Managing Director Debbie Robinson.
