2 Product Overview
Birthday Reminder add-on helps Sales and Marketing team keep track of Birthdays of CRM Contact by
displaying the Upcoming Birthdays on the Dashboard. It displays the Contact Name, Day - Month and Age.

2.1 Product Version & Supported CRM Deployment modes

System Requirements: CRM 2011 (update roll-up 12 or later), CRM 2013
2.2 Installation Process
In order to add the Birthday Reminder functionality to your CRM environment, you will need to import the
solution file. Please note that the trial will work for 5 days. To continue using this add-on for free, please
activate the product by adding the license key that you will receive from IOTAP.
Installing the “Birthday Reminder” Solution file: Click “Import” as shown below:

After successful import, Birthday Reminder will be visible in the solutions list as shown below:

2.3 Activating the Product
Birthday Reminder add-on will work for 5-days in trial period (this does not need any license). To continue
using the add-on, please activate the product by adding the license code that you would have received from
IOTAP. If you have not received the license code then please email support@iotap.com
To activate the product: Browse to SettingsSolutions; Double-click “Birthday Reminder”; Click
“Configuration”; paste License code and Click Submit button.
Please remember to click “Publish All Customizations” button as shown below:

Contacts
To activate or deactivate birthday reminder for selected contacts, please follow the below steps:
1. Select the Contacts
2. Click Run Workflow
3. Select either Activate or Deactivate Birthday Reminder workflow and click Add button

For Microsoft Dynamics CRM2.5 Activating Birthday reminder for all Contacts
To activate the birthdays of all the existing contacts, please follow below steps:
1. Double click Solution file to open the Configuration page.
2. Click “Update all Contacts” section and then click button “Activate Birthday Reminder for all
Contacts”. This will start the background process which will activate the Birthday reminder for all
contacts in CRM.
Please note that this functionality is only available with the System Administrator.
2.6 Viewing Birthday Reminder notification on your Dashboard
On importing Birthday Reminder add-on, a new Dashboard called as “Birthday Reminder Sample Dashboard”
will be available in the Dashboard drop-down list as shown below:

To add Birthday Reminder component in any Dashboard, please follow below steps:
Step 1: Browse to SettingsCustomize the System, Select Dashboards
Step 2:
Select the Dashboard in which you want to add the “Birthday Reminder” component.
Click Web Resource from Command bar
Browse for Web Resource “iotap_BirthdayReminder/BirthdayReminder.htm”, enter name, label and
click ok.

and conditions of this EULA. In such event, you must destroy all copies of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT in your

Dedicated Resources: The cost is based on a flat monthly fee for the resource based on experience level
and duration of the commitment. In this model we would act as an extension of your team with a
dedicated team member. Monthly costs range from $6500 to $7500.
Project based—Fixed Price: We execute a specific scope of services at a Fixed Price. You provide us with
a specific set of requirements and a specifications document and we deliver an estimate and the
solution. We manage the project deliverables and resources. The cost for this is based on the estimates.
This sort of engagement is appropriate for projects that require more than 100 hours in duration with
clear scope and documentation.
Block Hours and T&M**: Ideally suited for on-going support engagements or where the scope is not
clear. This is a block of consulting hours that can be used during the month. Unused hours are rolled
over for 2 months and then capped for 2 months and SLA based model is followed for delivery.
