Students awarded Smith-Hutson Scholarships may receive financial support up to a maximum of $18,500 per academic year for up to four years for incoming freshmen. Incoming freshmen applicants must be residents of Texas, demonstrate academic and leadership potential, plan to pursue a baccalaureate degree at SHSU, demonstrate financial need, and be admitted for Fall 2021 at SHSU. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) prior to submitting their scholarship application.
