You will need the following programs installed on your computer for full use of this
product:
Adobe® Acrobat® Reader, Adobe® Acrobat® Standard, or Adobe® Acrobat® Pro
(www.adobe.com). The PDFs are fully functional in Adobe Reader, but Standard
and Pro offer more tools and features.
Adobe® Flash Player (www.adobe.com)
An Internet web browser capable of rendering Adobe® Flash content with the
appropriate current Flash plugin.

To install the ¡Aventura! Teacher Resources onto your hard drive, follow these
steps:
1. Insert the disc into your disc drive.
2. The software should auto-start on Windows. If it does not, double-click the DVD
drive folder.
3. The Start-up/Requirements screen provides information about the applications
that may be installed with this program, and applications that may be required to
use the program resources.
3.1. Browse: Browse the contents of the Teacher Resources DVD by clicking the
“Browse Teacher Resources” button.
3.2. Requirements: Review the list of required applications carefully and
determine if you meet each requirement or need to install a program. Links to
download installers are provided.
3.3. Applications: A list of applications and components included on the disc can
be found in the right-hand column.
Select the applications you want to install by selecting the checkbox next
to the application name. It is recommended that you install all available
applications for maximum functionality of the Teacher Resources DVD.
Click “Install Checked Items” to start running the installers in the order
listed.
Click “Install” to install each application.
When each installer finishes, select “Back” to return to the previous
installer screen, “Next” to go to the next installer, or “Exit” to return to the
initial Start-up/Requirements screen.
Once you have started to install an application, its name is grayed out on
the Start-up/Requirements screen. If the installation fails to complete
successfully, you can reinstall the application by removing the disc from
your computer and reinserting it in the disc drive. Upon reinsertion, all
applications will again be available for installation on the Start-up/
Requirements screen.

The Teacher Resources Menu screen is designed to provide you with direct access
to the resources that accompany your textbook directly from the DVD. You do not
need to install the resources on your computer in order to access them.
1. Select a resource category by clicking on it in the middle panel.
2. Some categories have subcategories that slide open under the selected
category.
3. All resources for a selected category appear in the right-hand panel.
4. You can return to the Start-up/Requirements screen at any time by clicking the
“Start-up/Requirements” tab at the bottom of the screen.
5. You can access this User Guide at any time by clicking the “User Guide” tab at
the bottom of the screen.

4.1. Annotated Teacher’s Edition
The Annotated Teacher’s Edition eBook contains the entire Annotated Teacher’s
Edition text. The ATE eBook has a fully linked Contents panel and offers the ability
to create your own bookmarks to specific pages. The eBook also allows you to
highlight text, type notes, and jump from page to page.
4.2. Textbook Audio Program
The Textbook Audio Program resources includes all textbook audio that can found in
the ATE margins denoted by the yellow CD, and in the student edition by the purple
speaker and headphone icons. Audio files are organized by chapter and lesson. The
resources also include a PDF of the Audio Program Manual with reproducible
answer sheets.
4.3. Lesson Planner
The Lesson Planner is a program that needs to be installed on a computer to
function properly. The Lesson Planner includes an interactive ATE with links to all
ancillary materials, with the ability to plan lessons specific to the teacher’s schedule.
The Lesson Planner includes complete lesson plans for all selections, correlations to
the National Standards and quick access to all ancillaries, plus a calendar that
displays plans for multiple class periods, is printable, and can be exported to
Microsoft® Outlook® and other calendar applications.
The Lesson Planner is an optional program installation available on the Teacher
Resources DVD. You may install this program at any time. When you install the
program, you are prompted to place a shortcut on your desktop.
If you have installed this program, you can open the Lesson Planner by clicking the
shortcut on your desktop or by clicking the title in the list of all programs installed on
your computer. This resource has its own user guide.
The Lesson Planner allows you to perform the following actions:
Drag and drop prepared lesson plan into a calendar.
Display multiple course plans on one calendar.
Designate the start date and “no-class days” for each course.
Customize or create lesson plans to meet your classroom needs.
Print lesson plans.
Search complete versions of teacher resources.
Import national and state-specific standards into the lesson plans.
Save links to your own resources and lesson plans.
Import completed course plans into your Microsoft Outlook calendar or other
calendar application.

Workbook The Workbook resources include digital versions of both the teacher’s edition and student’s edition workbook in PDF format. The table of contents in each PDF is linked for easy access to each chapter. 4.5. Grammar and Vocabulary Exercises The Grammar and Vocabulary Exercises resources include digital versions of both the teacher’s edition and student’s edition Grammar and Vocabulary Exercises Manual in PDF format. The table of contents in each PDF is linked for easy access to each chapter. This resource provides more practice for students who need additional review and enrichment. 4.6. Transparencies The Transparencies resources include digital versions of all transparencies in PDF format. 4.7. Listening Activities The Listening Activities resources include all textbook audio that can found in the ATE margins denoted by the blue headphones. Audio files are organized by chapter and lesson. The resources also include a PDF of the Listening Activities Manual. 4.8. Activities for Proficiency The Activities for Proficiency resource includes a digital version of the manual in PDF format. The table of contents in each PDF is linked for easy access to each chapter. This resource provides innovative activities to support instruction. 4.9. Communicative Activities The Communicative Activities resource includes a digital version of the manual in PDF format. The table of contents in each PDF is linked for easy access to each chapter. This resource includes four styles of activities to improve speaking, listening and writing skills. 4.10. TPR Storytelling Manual The TPR Storytelling Manual resource includes a digital version of the manual in PDF format. The table of contents in each PDF is linked for easy access to each chapter. 4.11. EXAMVIEW Assessment Suite
The EXAMVIEW ® Assessment Suite presents the Formative Surveys, Lesson Tests,
and Unit Exams in tests that are ready to administer, and in question banks that can
be edited to create personalized tests. Every question in the Assessment Suite is
correlated to the National Standards; you will find the correlations in the National
standards field for the questions.
EXAMVIEW ® Assessment Suite is an optional program installation available on the
Teacher Resources disc. You may install this program at any time. When you install
the program, you are prompted to place a shortcut on your desktop.
If you have installed this program, you can open it by clicking the shortcut installed
on your desktop or by clicking EXAMVIEW Test Generator in the list of all programs
installed on your computer. This resource has its own user guide.
To access the EXAMVIEW ® materials for this course, open the EXAMVIEW ® Test
Generator and follow the prompts to Open an existing test or to Open an existing
question bank. Then open the folder for your level of the program—for example,
EMC_Aventura2e_Level I.
The EXAMVIEW ® Assessment Suite includes the Test Generator capabilities and a
question bank for each chapter of the ¡Aventura! program. Each bank contains the
following types of questions

Essay
4.12. Assessment Audio
Audio files in MP3 format are provided to accompany the Test Booklet and
EXAMVIEW ® Assessment Suite to test student’s listening skills. Files are organized
by chapter.
4.13. Quizzes with Answer Key
The Quizzes with Answer Key opens in a PDF. You might print out the quizzes and
from this resource and use them in the classroom or assign them as take-home
quizzes.
4.14. Test Booklet with Answer Key
The Test Booklet with Answer Key opens in a PDF. You might print out the tests and
from this resource and use them in the classroom or assign them as take-home
tests.

This resource guides the teacher in how to implement portfolio assessments and provides templates for assessment. 4.16. Materiales para hispanohablantes The Materiales para hispanohablantes Manual opens in a PDF and provides additional exercises for native speakers to further challenge their language skills. 4.17. Las aventuras de la familia Miranda Reader The Las aventuras de la familia Miranda Reader opens in a PDF. This is an additional ancillary denoted in the ATE as an open book. This resource compliments vocabulary and grammatical concepts presented in ¡Aventura! and provides students with their first reading experience in Spanish. 4.18. ¡Otra Vez! Electronic Flashcard Maker The ¡Otra Vez! Electronic Flashcard Maker opens in a web browser. This is a teacher resource to create flashcards for the class or individual students. 4.19. El cuarto misterioso DVD Program The El cuarto misterioso DVD Program includes the Program Manual in PDF format, and the individual video files in low resolution and MP4 format. Each video is about seven minutes long and is organized by chapter. The program incorporates chapter learning objectives in an intriguing, teen-centered adventure. 4.20. Aventureros The Aventureros resource opens in a web browser. This is an additional ancillary denoted in the ATE as a blue passport. The videos and activities included are organized by chapter and compliment the instructional content with additional vocabulary and activities. 4.21. Juegos The Juegos resource opens in a web browser. This resource contains electronic games that practice each chapter’s vocabulary and grammatical objectives. 4.22. Middle School Resources The Middle School Resources includes the Annotated Teacher’s Edition eBooks of levels 1A and 1B and PDF files of the Workbook, Grammar and Vocabulary Exercises Manual, the Middle School Resource Manuals and the Middle School Bridge Program for those teachers who are using ¡Aventura! Levels 1A and 1B. 5. FAQs
What do I do if a resource does not open when I click it?
In most cases, clicking a resource opens that resource in the default application
that you have set for your computer to associate with its file type. If a file does
not open when you click it, check the default settings on your computer and
make sure you have a program set to open the file type. (See the Help feature of
your operating system for instructions on setting defaults for your computer.)
If you have two or more versions of a program installed on your computer, you
may have trouble opening a file even if you have the default set. For example, If
you have Adobe® Acrobat® Reader installed and also have Adobe® Acrobat®
Standard or Adobe® Acrobat® Pro installed, you may have trouble opening PDFs.
Selecting Adobe® Acrobat® Standard or Adobe® Acrobat® Pro as the default
handler for PDF files usually resolves the issue.
What does the symbol next to a resource icon mean?
The symbol next to a file icon indicates that a tooltip is available for the
resource. Hover over the symbol to get more information.
Why do I get a pop-up window when I click some resources?
In some cases, when you click on a resource, a pop-up window will open. This
window provides - more information about the resource. To access the resource,
follow the instructions in the pop-up window.

PROVIDED HEREWITH TO YOUR COMPUTER YOU ARE ACCEPTING AND AGREEING TO THE TERMS OF
THIS LICENSE AGREEMENT. IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO BE BOUND BY THE TERMS OF THIS LICENSE
AGREEMENT, PRIOR TO DOWNLOADING OR COPYING TO YOUR COMPUTER ANY FILE(S), YOU MUST
DECLINE ACCESS TO SUCH MATERIALS.
1. GRANT OF LICENSE
Subject to the provisions contained herein and to the payment of all applicable fees, EMC Corporation, 875 Montreal
Way, St Paul MN 55102, ("EMC"), grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to the materials contained
herewith (the "Product"). Your licensed rights to the Product are limited to the following:
(a) This License Agreement does not convey to you an interest in or to the Product, but only a limited right of use
revocable in accordance with the terms of this License Agreement.
(b) You may install one copy of the Product on, and permit access to it by a single computer owned, leased or
otherwise controlled by you. In the event that computer becomes dysfunctional, such that you are unable to access
the Product, you may transfer the Product to another computer, provided that the Product is removed from the
computer from which it is transferred and the use of the Product on the replacement computer otherwise complies
with the terms of this Agreement. Neither concurrent use on two or more computers nor use in a local area network or
other network is permitted. You shall not merge, adapt, translate, modify, rent, lease, sell, sublicense, assign or
otherwise transfer any of the Product, or remove any proprietary notice or label appearing on any of the Product.
(c) You acknowledge and agree that the Product is proprietary to the Copyright holder (the "Owner") identified on the
front page of the Product, and is protected under the United States of America copyright law and international
copyright treaties. You further acknowledge and agree that all right, title and interest in and to the Product, including
all intellectual property rights, are and shall remain with the Owner.
(d) You shall provide EMC or any designee of EMC with all information necessary to assure compliance with the
terms of this Agreement. In the event you are not in compliance with the terms of this Agreement through the actions
of unrelated third parties, you shall use your best efforts to cooperate with EMC and any of its designees to assure
compliance.
2. LIMITED WARRANTY
(a) EMC warrants for your benefit alone that, unless disclosed in the Product to the contrary, EMC and the Owner can
license the Product and all copyright and trademarks related thereto or therein.
(b) The express warranties set forth in this section 2 constitute the only warranties with respect to the Product and
EMC and the Owner make no other representation or warranty or condition of any kind, whether express or implied
(either in fact or by operation of law) with respect to any of the Product, including, without limitation, with respect to
the sufficiency, accuracy or utilization of, or any information or opinion contained or reflected in, any of the Product.
EMC and the Owner expressly disclaims all warranties or conditions of merchantability or fitness for a particular
purpose. No officer, director, employee, member, agent, representative or publisher of the copyright holder is
authorized to make any modification, extension, or addition to this limited warranty.
3. INDEMNIFICATION
The Owner, EMC, any agent, representative, publisher or distributor of the Product, or any of their respective
directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives or members (the "EMC and Owner Indemnified Parties") shall
have no liability for, and you shall defend, indemnify and hold each of the EMC and Owner Indemnified Parties
harmless from and against, any claim, loss, demand, liability, obligation and expenses (including reasonable
attorneys' fees) based upon or arising out of any injury or damage, or any product liability claim, including but not
limited to any personal or bodily injury or property damage, arising out of, pertaining to, or resulting in any way from,
the use or possession of any of the Product by you and/or any of your directors, officers, employees, representatives,
agents or contractors.
4. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
(a) You acknowledge that each of EMC's and Owner's obligations and liabilities with respect to the Product are
exhaustively defined in this Agreement. You are responsible for the consequences of any use of any of the Product

or Owner has been advised of their possibility, neither EMC nor Owner nor any of its representatives or agents,
directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives or members, shall be liable, whether under contract, tort,
(including negligence) or otherwise, for any indirect, special, punitive, incidental or consequential loss, damage, cost
or expense of any kind whatsoever and howsoever caused, that may be suffered by you or any of your directors,
officers, employees, agents, representatives or contractors or any third party.
(b) If at any time an allegation of infringement of any rights of any third party is made, or in EMC's or Owner's opinion
is likely to be made, with respect to any of the Product, EMC may, at its option and at its own expense (i) obtain for
you the right to continue using the Product, (ii) modify or replace the Product or any portion thereof so as to avoid any
such claim of infringements, or (iii) refund to you the License Fee. EMC shall have no liability to you if a claim of
infringement would have been avoided except for your refusal to use any modified or replacement Product supplied
or offered to be supplied pursuant to this Section 4(b) or to otherwise cease using the Product. Notwithstanding
anything contained in this Agreement, and except as set forth in Section 4(b) hereof, EMC and/or Owner's liability to
you for damages pursuant to this Section 4(b), if any, shall not exceed the amounts of the License Fee paid by you
for the Product subject to any such claim.
(c) Section 4(b) states the entire liability of EMC and Owner with respect to the infringement or alleged infringement
of any third party rights of any kind whatsoever by any of the Product.
5. TERMINATION
If you have applied and paid the fees for a single use agreement, you may terminate this Agreement at any time.
Owner or EMC may terminate this Agreement upon breach of any provision of this Agreement by you. Upon any
termination of this Agreement, you shall immediately discontinue the use of the Product and destroy all copies of the
Product.
6. GOVERNING LAW
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the United States of America without reference to its conflict of law
provisions and the state of Minnesota shall be the first instance forum for the settlement of disputes.
7. MISCELLANEOUS
This Agreement constitutes the complete and exclusive agreement between EMC and you with respect to the subject
matter hereof, and supersedes all prior oral or written understandings, communications or agreements not specifically
incorporated herein. This Agreement may not be modified except in writing duly signed by an authorized
representative of EMC and you. If any provision of this Agreement is held to be unenforceable for any reason, such
provision shall be reformed only to the extent necessary to make it enforceable, and such decision shall not affect the
enforceability (i) of such provision under other circumstances, or (ii) of the remaining provisions hereof under all
circumstances. Headings shall not be considered in interpreting the Agreement.
8. EXPORT
You may not load or export or re-export any of the Product or any underlying information or technology except in full
compliance with all the United States of America and other applicable laws and regulations.
BY ACCESSING THE PRODUCT, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ THE TERMS OF THIS
LICENSE AGREEMENT AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY ITS TERMS.
