ALL-WHEEL DRIVE (AWD) SYSTEM
The AWD System determines
the optimal amount of front and
rear torque to send to the
wheels, depending on driving
conditions, to prevent or reduce
wheelspin. The driver doesn’t
need to activate the system — it
automatically engages on wet or
dry surfaces based on wheel
speeds, throttle position and
steering wheel angle to
determine the truck’s condition
and driver’s intent. When AWD is
combined with traction control
or the AdvanceTrac electronic

PERSONAL SAFETY SYSTEM
This Personal Safety System is
designed to analyze occupant
conditions in the front seats to
help reduce the risk of an airbag-
related injury. The system can
adjust airbag deployment based
on whether the passenger seat
is occupied, how far forward or
back the seats are, whether the
safety belts are being used and
severity of the crash.
