Discover Week is your in-person, fun-filled, make-lots-of-new-friends-and-learn-a-lot week-long orientation!
SATURDAY, AUG. 14
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Check-in for Discover Week & Discover Week Headquarters Wade Commons (E2)
Upon arrival, please check in to receive your CWRU ID card, residence hall room key and other important
information. If you have any questions about Discover Week you can stop by headquarters to have them
answered!

Representatives from local banks and cell phone providers will be on hand to open bank accounts, activate cell phone
plans and answer your questions.
2 to 3 p.m. Transfer Student Welcome and Q&A Session Via Zoom
Join us for an official welcome to all incoming transfer students. This will include a brief overview of transfer student
programs and support resources, along with ways to connect with the broader CWRU community. After the welcome
we’ll have a Q&A session with a number of current transfer students. This session covers the same information as
Monday’s in-person Transfer Student Welcome event. Students can choose to attend online or in-person.

7 p.m. Discover Week Small Group Meeting Outside Leutner Pavilion/North Residential Village (E2)
Meet up with your orientation leaders for the first time to kick off Discover Week. You will get to meet other members
of your small group and learn about expectations for Discover Week. Your specific location is listed on the back of
your name tag.
8 to 10 p.m. Residential Community Meetings for first-year students
Meet your first-year residential community director (RCD) and resident assistant (RA) at your first residential
community meeting. Learn what it means to live on campus and how you will contribute to your residential
community while learning about important residence hall resources.

9 to 11 a.m. Diversity 360 — Discover Week Small Groups 21 to 50
Diversity 360 is a campus-wide diversity education program for students, faculty and staff with the goal of
advancing campus community efforts to be a welcoming, inclusive environment for learning, leading and
innovation. The Office of First-Year Experience and Family Programs along with the Office of Multicultural
Affairs requires all students to participate in the Diversity 360 program during orientation.

is a chance for you to get to know each other and the Cleveland community by volunteering at local nonprofits and

Come learn about the Case School of Engineering with the CSE Peer Advisors. The Case School of Engineering Peer
Advisors are a group of experienced upperclassmen engineering students who are here to support all students in
the school of engineering, helping YOU be successful and forging your own engineering journey. Elliot and Joel, a
civil engineering and polymer science & engineering peer advisor respectively, are here to answer your engineering-
related questions through a student lens! Come learn about the engineering school, double majoring and how to
utilize the CSE Peer Advisors. Joel and Elliot will give a short introduction presentation then open up into a Q&A
session on everything engineering: internships, co-ops, extracurriculars, classes, scheduling and more.

Representatives of CWRU EMS will share a short presentation and answer any questions regarding the services
CWRU EMS provides and how you can apply to become an EMT and serve the campus community.
1 to 2 p.m. La Alianza Meet & Greet Clapp 108 (E5)
Join current members of La Alianza, a CWRU Latinx student organization that serves the community, celebrates the
Latinx culture and supports Latinx students, to learn more about the resources available to new students. Connect
with current CWRU students who are part of La Alianza and have any of your questions answered.

Music majors will meet Department of Music faculty and become familiar with policies and procedures associated
with the music major.
