WELCOME Membership of this Golf Club provides you with the opportunity to participate in all aspects of competitive and social golf. Golf is played, for the most part, without supervision of a Referee or Umpire. The game relies on the integrity of the individual to show consideration for other players and to bide by the rules. What is true of the game also applies to club membership. spirit and image of a golf club is projected by the way members show respect, courtesy and consideration for one another by the etiquette of its members. All Players should conduct themselves in a disciplined manner, demonstrating courtesy and sportsmanship at all times, irrespective of how competitive they may be. 4SIMPLE RULES OF ETIQUETTE
1. Members shall afford the President, Captain and their selected
playing partners the courtesy of precedence on the first tee.
2. Players should ensure that they never place another person in
a position where they could be hit by a ball, club, stones, twigs
or the like, when they make a stroke or a practice swing. If a
player hits a ball in a direction where there is danger of hitting
someone, they should immediately shout a warning. The
traditional word of warning in such situations is “FORE”.
3. All players are required to carry a sand bucket and fill and
smooth divot marks on the FAIRWAYS, TEES and in the
ROUGH. You know how irritating it is when you land in a
divot.
4. Fixing pitch marks – both yours and others you may see - is not
only a courtesy, but it helps to maintain a smooth putting green
surface for all players. Players should ensure no damage is done
to the putting surface when placing down bags or flag sticks.
Do not lean on your putter when standing on the green.
THE HEAD OF THE PUTTER SHOULD NOT BE USED
TO REMOVE THE BALL FROM THE HOLE.
5. When you land in a bunker, enter the bunker from its lowest
point closest to your ball to play your shot. After playing out,
rake your divot and footprints trying to leave the bunker in as
good or better condition as when you entered the bunker.
Replace the rake in the rake holder.
6. Please Turn Off Mobile Phones. After all we’re here to escape
the office – not to bring it with us.
7. Control your emotions. Club throwing, swearing and smashing
clubs will not only disrupt your game but can distract your
playing partners. If you can control your emotions you’re half
way to a good round.
8. Drink bottles and tops, lolly wrappers, and other rubbish
should be placed in bins. This will help keep the course
attractive for everyone.
5ORDER OF PLAY
All competitors in club competitions have equal rights regardless of
the number of players in the group.
Groups of FOUR are to be the maximum number.
Except where a Pennant Match is in progress or when a Match Play
off has been arranged, players in competitions will have priority on
the course.
PACE OF PLAY
As our fields grow bigger with large numbers of players to be
accommodated on the course, the instances of “SLOW PLAY” have
increased. This issue is constantly discussed amongst members as
many members have experienced this at some stage and it certainly
has an adverse effect on their enjoyment of the game.
The Committee is also concerned and sets out the following advice
to assist in eliminating “SLOW PLAY”.
1. Play at a good pace and keep up. Always be aware that your
position in the field is directly behind the group in front and
not just keeping ahead of the group behind. A group of 4
players should play this course in about 4 hours.
2. Know the Rules of Golf especially those pertaining to Out of
Bounds, Water Hazards and Lost Ball.
3. The Player with the Honor must hit off before marking his
score card. If he is delayed for some reason, change the order.
The first person to putt out should attend and replace the flag
stick for the others.
4. Walk directly to your ball or level with it and always be ready
to play your next shot. Make as many preparations as is safe
while other players are playing their shots.
5. If you run out of strokes in a Par or Stableford event, pick your
ball up.
6. When playing on or near the green always place your Buggy in
such a position as will enable quick movement off the green
and towards the next Tee Area.
67. Motorised Carts must stay behind the lines marked.
8. Never mark your score card on the green – leave immediately
after putting out.
9. If after a reasonable period it is apparent that your group is
holding up play, or your group is more than one (1) clear
fairway behind the group in front it should invite the group
behind to play through, irrespective of the number of players
in that group, or the reason for the loss of pace in the field.
10. Unless otherwise determined by the Committee, priority on
the course is determined by a group pace of play. Any group
playing an 18 hole round is entitled to pass a group playing a
shorter round. Competition players have the right of way over
social groups. The term “group” includes only two players.
MATCH COMMITTEE advises that it will from time to time be
checking the field and score cards or complaints of “SLOW PLAY”.
Should particular groups or players be observed to be consistently
slow in the field and are not responsive to verbal warnings from
Match Committee or its representatives, then the Match Committee
may require them to play at the rear of the field until their playing
speed improves.
GOLF SHOP
As the Golf Shop is an integral part of the club, it is the duty of
every member to extend to it the support to which it is entitled, by
purchasing from its ample stock of golf clubs and golfing material.
Your Golf Shop which is owned by the Club will ensure members
receive quality goods at competitive prices at a convenient location.
The Committee would like to acknowledge the support received
from the Golf Shop Staff and Management.
All Players must report to the Golf Shop before playing including
Social Rounds.
Players should report at least 20 minutes prior to their designated
booking time. Failure to be ready at the booked time may result in
competitors being relegated to the end of the field. The Golf Shop
Staff will be responsible for the sending out of the field and any
changes as required.
7DRESS RULES APPLY TO COMPETITION, SOCIAL AND
PRACTICE ROUNDS
Members and their Visitors are expected to present themselves
suitably attired and neatly dressed at all times on the course and
within the club house.
Members inviting guests are responsible for their conduct and dress
code. Please comply with the Club Dress Rules so as to avoid any
embarrassment to yourself and your playing partners by being
refused access to the Golf Course or Club House.
In The Club House
Neat and tidy dress is required at all times.
Appropriate footwear must be worn at all times in the club house.
No bare feet or steel spiked shoes.
Entry to the club house without the correct dress and footwear is
prohibited. (Exemption may apply with management approval).
On The Course
All dress must be appropriate for the game of golf.
Tailored slacks or shorts, shirts with sleeves and short sport socks
may be worn, denim type apparel must be clean and in good
condition.
Soft Spikes or soft / smoothed sole shoes are the only acceptable
footwear for the purpose of playing golf.

PERMITTED ON THE COURSE
8COMPETITIONS MEN & WOMEN
All competitions will be run in conjunction with The Current
“Rules of Golf ” and any Local Rules as laid down by the Match
Committee of the Coomealla Golf Club.
Local Rules: printed on back of score card and on the notice board
at the front of Golf Shop.
All competitions are under control of the Match Committee and
its decisions will be final.
TIES in COMPETITIONS – shall be decided in a manner
prescribed by the Committee, other than where special conditions
apply the count back system will be adopted
ENTRY FEES: for all competitions will be set from time to time
by the Committee.
NO MEMBER may compete in competitions unless they are a
current financial member of the Coomealla Golf Club.
DAILY COMPETITION EVENTS
Time Sheet: Men & Women – Players may book time slot
through Golf Shop by telephone (03) 5027 4658 OR online at
www.coomeallaclub.com.au – and enter through the golf members
login area. Competitor’s name must be entered on computerised
time sheet and entry fee paid before the commencement of play.
All Players MUST report 15 minutes prior to TEE off Time.
Time on time sheet Means TEE Off time NOT arriving time.
Players should be at the Tee 5 minutes before hit off time.
WEDNESDAY’S / SATURDAY’S
Men & Women – Score Cards to be completed with Name, Date,
and Handicap and returned with the signature of Player &
Marker.
Score cards to be entered in computer as soon as possible after
completing their rounds of golf and placed in the box provided.
MEN – No player shall tee off prior to 7:00am or after 1:15 pm
being latest hit off time on competition days, with proviso to
player due to no fault of their own, exceptional circumstance will
be dealt with by the Match Committee.
WOMEN - Wednesday score cards submitted after 2:30pm and
Saturday score cards submitted after 6:00pm may not be accepted
for competition.

at the discretion of the Match Committee.

A player’s DAILY handicap will be printed on the score card
when registering in a competition.
A Player may access their GA handicap on Golf link via the golf
member login at www.coomeallaclub.com.au
It is a RULE of GOLF that each player is responsible for his / her
handicap being entered on score card at all times. It is also
recommended that the member’s GOLF LINK NUMBER be
added to score card when playing away.

Ball Competition on these days only. Golf Balls will be presented
to the NEXT BEST SCORES according to the number in the
field.

All prizes issued from 1st October 2019 are valid from date of
issue to 30th September 2020.
Any prizes won in September 2020 will not be issued until 1st
October 2020.
Valid for 12 months from date of issue and may be redeemed at
Coomealla Golf Club, CMSC Ltd, CMSC Fuel Station, Burrows
Jewellers, Mildura Showcase Jewellers, The Good Guys Mildura
and House of Golf.

shot will apply as per Men’s conditions of play.
HOLE in ONE TROPHY CONDITION of PLAY
If a HOLE in ONE is achieved on the holes where 2nd Shot
applies, A HOLE in ONE WILL OVERRIDE THE 2nd SHOT.
1. If a Visitor has a Hole in One – they receive a Club Glass
& a Golf Ball plus Trophy applicable to that hole.
2. If a Member has a Hole in One – they receive, the Eagles
Nest Trophy, plus Trophy applicable to that hole.
When measuring the DISTANCE for the NEAREST
the PIN the BASE of the FERRULE is to be
PLACED ON THE EDGE OF THE HOLE.
12MEN & WOMEN’S ECLECTIC COMPETITION
Two Eclectics will be run during the year.
Eclectic One – 4th March to 27th June 2020
Eclectic Two – 1st July to 28th October 2020
Scores from any Single Competition conducted on a Wednesday,
Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays, but excludes scores from
single events which coincide with a mixed event.
TWO GRADES: MEN 0 – 14, 15 – 36.
Scratch and Handicap in each division.
WOMEN – Scratch and Handicap in each division, Grades to be
decided by Match Committee.
With proviso that a player may not win both scratch and handicap
in his / her division. Handicap applied is half handicap as at the
Conclusion of each Eclectic. Eclectic scores are now done
automatically from score cards. Progressive Score Sheets will be
kept.
CLUB PUTTER – 7 ROUNDS - Men & Women
A Trophy will be awarded to both the Men’s and Women’s winner.
The Club Putter event will be open to Club Members, free of
charge. The total of the 4 best nett scores recorded in Monthly
Medal events from March to September will decide the winner. In
the event of a tie the fifth (5th) best round score will be used, if
further tie the sixth (6th) best round to be used.
WOMEN’S PUTTING COMPETITION
Three (3) Best aggregate putting scores over 5 stipulated rounds
on a Wednesday Competition & Saturday Competition.
In the event of a tie the fourth (4th) best round score will be used,
if further tie the fifth (5th ) best score to be used.
13BIRDIE TICKETS MEN & WOMEN
Sponsored by General Committee.
A birdie ticket will be issued to a player who scores a birdie on the Par 3
18th Hole in Wednesday & Saturday Competitions.
BIRDIE TICKET MUST BE REDEEMED ON DAY OF ISSUE
AND ONLY USED FOR DRINKS IN THE CLUB HOUSE. NO
TAKE AWAY SALES ALLOWED.
EAGLE’S NEST open to MEN & WOMEN MEMBERS ONLY
A Voucher to the value of $5.00 will be added to the eagle’s nest each
Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday Competitions. When a MEMBER has an
Eagle they will receive the number of vouchers that have accumulated in
the Eagles Nest. Once an Eagle’s Nest has been won, new vouchers will be
added to the nest. Vouchers may be redeemed at Golf Shop, CMSC Ltd,
CMSC Fuel Station, Burrowers Jewellers - Mildura Show Case Jewellers,
The Good Guy's Mildura, and House of Golf.
FRIDAY MEDLEY COMPETITIONS
Open all day - Entry Fee $5.00
9 Hole Stableford event - Holes 10th to 18th
PRESIDENT’S PORT
Medley 12 Hole Stableford event - Holes 1st to 12th
To be played on last Friday of the month.
Conditions: Play to commence on 1st hole through to 12th hole.
Player eliminates the worst score on a par 3, par 4, par 5, to reach a 9
Hole score result.
Before entering scores on computer, player eliminates His/Her worst
score on a Par 3, Par 4, Par 5 holes, to reach a 9 hole score.
Then make eliminated holes a “PICK UP”, place an ‘X’ in pick up
column and ALSO FOR holes 13th to 18th
In the case of a tie, a count back will decide the winner over the last 9
holes played.
KOOKABURRA’S 9 HOLE COMPETITION
Sundays. 8:00am start. A very Social Sunday morning group for begin-
ners to older players, handicap and non handicap players. Handicap will
be allocated on ability. All members and guests welcome.
14MAJOR COMPETITIONS
SEEDED DRAW for both MEN & WOMEN
For final round in all Major Events for both Men and Women, a
seeded draw will be done for the top four(4) players in each grade.
Exceptional circumstances regarding unavailability will be dealt
with by the Match Committees.
COUNT BACK METHOD in the EVENT of TIES
For both Men and Women
Scratch Event: 18 Hole Events – the best score for the last 9
holes (i.e. holes 10 – 18) shall be used. If further tie the best score
for the last 6 holes, or if further tie the last 3 holes.
27 (the first 18 holes score is used), 36, 54 & 72 Hole Events
the last 18 holes shall be used. If further tie remains, count back as
above applies.
In handicap events – the relevant handicap or fraction thereof
shall be applied. Countback = last 9 holes = half handicap, last 6
holes = third of handicap, last 3 holes = sixth of handicap, if still
tied the 18th hole score is used. If scores are still tied, hole by hole
(back 9) is used.
CHAMPIONSHIPS
For all championship events where Senior and Junior
grades are played.
Senior Men/Women = 55 years or older at the start of the competition.
Juniors = under 18 years at the start of the competition.
SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIPS MEN
Entry Fee: 4 Rounds $30.00 paid prior to Round 1.
Daily Entry Fee = $10.00
Championships will be played in divisions, depending on the
number of entries. The Competition will consist of 4 stroke rounds.
Scratch Event: In the event of a tie, there will be a sudden death
playoff using the 10th, 11th & 12th holes until a result is achieved.
Handicap Events: In the event of a tie, winner will be decided by
the countback system.
Handicap Divisions The Match Committee will have discretion
to alter or vary the handicap divisions.

Entry Fee: 3 Rounds $30.00 paid prior to Round 1.
Daily Entry Fee: $10.00.
Championships to be played in 3 divisions, depending on the
number of entries.
Scratch Event: In the event of a tie, there will be a playoff over
holes stipulated by the Match Committee.
Handicap Divisions: The Match Committee will have discretion
to alter or vary the handicap divisions.
Handicap Event and Veteran’s Handicap: In the event of a tie,
the winner will be decided by the countback system.
Veteran’s Handicap Event: 55 years and Over. A 54 hole nett
event will be run in conjunction with the Club Championships.
AMERICAN FOURSOMES CHAMPIONSHIP
MEN and WOMEN
Scratch Event: 18 Hole Scratch Event. In the event of a tie, there
will be a sudden death playoff using the 10th, 11th and 12th holes
until a result is achieved.
RULES for AMERICAN FOURSOMES
Handicap – 3/8 of aggregate team handicap.
Both players play a tee shot at each hole.
They then play a second shot with partner’s ball.
A ball is then selected for play, with the third shot being played by
the owner of the ball. Play then proceeds with alternate shots
until the ball is holed.
MEN MONTHLY MEDAL / MONTHLY MUG
WOMEN MONTHLY MEDAL / MONTHLY AWARD
Conditions of Play – Will be decided by the Match Committee.
Each Grade winner for MEN will be awarded a Medal / Mug and
for WOMEN a Medal / Award.
ALL WINNERS OF MEN’S MONTHLY MEDAL/MUG
from November 2019 to October 2020, will qualify for the Men’s
playoffs for of the Medallist/Mug of the Year.

Silver Tray to be awarded to Winner in each Division.

SUMMER CUP MEN and WOMEN
The Summer Cup will be held over 6 Stableford rounds
conducted in December, January and February.
The aggregate of the member’s best 4 scores will be the Summer
Cup score. The member with the highest aggregate will be the
winner of the Summer Cup.
In the event of a tie, the member with the better 5th score will be
the winner. If still equal, the member with the better 6th score will
be the winner. If still equal, a nine by nine hole count back will
determine the winner.

Handicap: ¼ of the aggregate team handicap.
Tee Shot: Both players MUST provide 7 tee shots. Please mark on
the card to show whose shot was taken on every hole.
Approach shot: Mark the ball and place within one club length.
You cannot move from rough to fairway or take any
similar advantage.
Putting: Mark the ball and place within one card width.
Bunkers: Ball should be placed in bunker. Bunker can be raked
between shots without penalty.
