EXTREME MAKEOVER REBOOT
Scripps Networks has announced that Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,
the world s biggest, most transformative, inspirational and aspirational home
show ever, will premiere with ten new episodes on HGTV on February 16 and
audiences will be hooked. The special event will kick off a year of HGTV pro-
gramming that will include new series from the network s biggest stars, new
experts with innovative approaches to buying, selling and renovating homes,
surprising celebrity faces, as well as compelling, emotional, relatable and in-
spiring stories about families at home. The high-profile reboot of Extreme

HOLOCAUST DOCUMENTARY
The Discovery Channel (and Discovery GO) will debut a new documentary,
Who Will Write Our History? on January 27, to coincide with the 75th anniver-
sary of the Liberation of Auschwitz. In November 1940, days after the Nazis sealed
450,000 Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto, a secret band of journalists, scholars and
community leaders decided to fight back. Led by historian Emanuel Ringelblum
and known by the code name Oyneg Shabes, this clandestine group vowed to de-
feat Nazi lies and propaganda not with guns or fists, but with pen and paper. Now,
for the first time, their story is told in the documentary Who Will Write Our Histo-
ry? Featuring the voices of three-time Academy Award® nominee Joan Allen and
Academy Award® winner Adrian Brody, Who Will Write Our History? mixes the
writings of the Oyneg Shabes archive with new interviews, rarely seen footage and
stunning dramatizations (shot on location in Lodz and Warsaw, Poland) to
transport audiences inside the Ghetto and the lives of these courageous resistance
fighters (130 ).

R. KELLY SAGA CONTINUES
A&E s Lifetime Network unravels more of the saga of R. Kelly with Surviving R.
Kelly Part II: The Reckoning airing across three nights, beginning in January,
2020. The multi-part program will feature interviews from a variety of perspectives
including with new survivors, supporters, psychologists and cultural and legal ex-
perts, and more insights into the ever-growing saga of the R&B singer, who is cur-
rently facing federal and state charges. The three-night event uncovers new stories

ades ago are only now being heard. The full story will be available with a six-hour
marathon of Part I, airing in its entirety, leading into the two-hour premiere of

CHERNOBYL DISASTER
Janson Media has announced the digital release of the four-part limited drama se-
ries, Inseparable, a story based on historical events about a boy and a girl who fall
in love during the worst ecological disaster in history. It is April, 1986. Pripyat,
Ukraine. A core meltdown occurs at Reactor 4 of the Chernobyl Power Plant. Over
thirty people die during the blast but the estimated death toll as a result of the radia-
tion fallout reaches into the thousands. Chernobyl will be considered the world's larg-
est ecological disaster. The shocking news of the explosion at the nuclear plant
spreads, and the world watches the tragedy in fear and confusion. Hearts go out to
those who displayed selfless courage and integrity in the initial efforts to stabilize the
reactor power. But some were too busy being in love to notice what had just hap-
pened in nearby Chernobyl (4 x 48 ).

PROVOCATIVE CRIME DRAMA

MISSING CHILD
A movie for television, A Child is Missing dramatizes a missing persons case.
When a boy disappears overnight from the Bergisches Land in Germany, Ingo Thiel,
head of the special task force assigned to the search, finds himself with a criminal
case on his hands. Directed by Urs Egger, the film recounts the Mirco Case and is
based on the true story that shook Germany when a ten-year-old boy was murdered
in the autumn of 2010 in North Rhine-Westphalia. The story begins when Mirco s par-
ents find him missing one morning, Mirco having failed to return from the skate park
the previous night. The police begin their search, and when Mirco s clothes are
found, their fears are confirmed: the boy is dead (90 ).

Scripps Networks HGTV is set to take on an ambitious mission and it will be the
most impressive and massive renovation ever a takeover to makeover an entire

Frantic Films has announced that principal photography has begun on Season five
of the multiple award-winning CBC original sketch comedy series, Baroness von

Queens of Mystery follows a perennially single female Detective Sergeant
(Matilda Stone) and her three aunts (Cat, Beth and Jane), who are well-known crime
writers that help her solve whodunit style murders as well as set her up on blind
dates. In addition to her weekly murder investigations, Mattie is also preoccupied by
the fact that her mother Eleanor disappeared without a trace when Mattie was three.
The continuing mystery of Eleanor s disappearance will haunt the central characters
throughout forthcoming seasons (3 x 90 or 6 x 45 ).

WWII BATTLEFIELD ACTION
Written and directed by Aleksey Sidorov, the World War II action/drama T-34 stars
Alexander Petrov, Irina Starshenbaum, and Viktor Dobronravov. Produced by Leon-
ard Blavatnik and Ruben Dishdishyan for Mars Media Entertainment of Moscow,
the Russian film is now available in English. In 1944, a courageous group of Russian
soldiers manage to escape from German captivity in a half-destroyed, legendary T-34
tank. What happened next were scenes of unforgettable bravery, fierce fighting, and
unbreakable love. Sidorov said the aim of T-34 was to tell a war story in a way that
attracts young people and does not provoke objections from those who still remem-
ber the great patriotic war," as World War II is often referred to in Russia (120 ).

Set on a tropical island, Roger follows the lively adventures of a little girl, the care-
free, joyful and perky Fatou, and Roger, a rather clumsy alien. Throughout their adven-
tures, they trigger small accidents that sometimes grow into major disasters, but
(almost) always end on a happy note. In short, Roger and Fatou spend their time sav-
ing the island from their own mistakes and blunders. Series is aimed at children ages

ZDF Enterprises, together with internationally recognized production companies, is
starting a new series about the greatest inventions of mankind. Great Inventions
will be a long-running series explaining what lies behind the inventions which we use
every day, and which have shaped our world. The series shows how these break-

PRISON EDUCATION
Lynn Novick s College Behind Bars is a four-part documentary series that details
the transformative impact of college in prison. The film, which premieres on PBS on
November 25, is Novick s directorial debut and is produced by Sarah Botstein and

In Lidia Celebrates America: The Return of the Artisans, a new one-hour spe-
cial co-produced by WGBH Studio Six and Tavola Productions, Lidia travels to
Tennessee, California, Colorado, Michigan, Wisconsin and New Jersey to meet
with American makers who are mastering the art of meat curing, coopering, copper-
smithing, jam-making, cider-making, and more--and finds out what inspires and
fuels them. The American work and education landscapes are evolving, and arti-
sans are gaining in cultural relevance. With a renewed focus on vocational training
and working apprentices, artisans and the trades are making a comeback here in
the United States. The Return of the Artisans looks at how this new generation of
craftspeople is training today. From vocational high schools to apprenticeships to
incubator programs, Lidia observes firsthand how young people are looking to arti-
sanal crafts and small business as a fulfilling way to earn their livelihoods, and how
many young craftsmen are bringing their skills back to their own communities (60 ).
