Join Mother Lisa as she participates in the Monmouth County Historical Society’s reading of
the Declaration of Independence, Sunday, July 4th at the Allen House. Christ Church will ring
our historical church bell 13 times (to signify the 13 colonies) at 10am as the official start of the
celebration.FLEA MARKET IS BACK!
Saturday, July 24th
9am-3pm
Christ Church is quickly getting back into the swing of things, and one of the first events we
have planned is a favorite fundraiser, our summer Flea Market.
Because of the shutdown, we have not seen many of you for some time, and so we particularly
need your help! We need VOLUNTEERS! Of all sorts. We need a lot of people for a rather
short time commitment. We need you the week before the event to help sort and price. We need
you the day of the event to help sell. We need you immediately after the event to help pack up
and dispose of what is left.
Please contact us and let us know what days and hours
you are available.
Date of the Flea Market: Saturday, July 24, 9:00am to 3:00pm
Set Up Dates: 11am Sunday July18 through Friday evening, July 23
Items can be dropped off in the Parish Hall beginning July 1st.
Please be sure all items are clean and in very good condition. Be sure all the pieces are there.
We will NOT be accepting large pieces of furniture, electronics, or stuffed animals.
We have limited space, so keep this measure in mind: If you would not want to purchase it or
give it to a friend, then do not bring it.
Please call or email the church office as soon as possible with the hours you can volunteer so
we can put our team together.
Help us make this first fundraiser a big success!
We cannot do this without you!
Peace,

Elaine FeyereisenHeritage Rose Meditation Garden The flowers are blooming in our beautiful Heritage Rose Meditation Garden including the Roses, annuals and Lavender. Last fall 6 Rose bushes were added. This variety called “Popcorn Drift” is currently flowering with small white roses along the northeast border of the garden. In June, 20 annuals were planted including Marigolds, Lantana, red and white Zinnias and Superbells (variety: “Lemon Slice” and “Holy Moly”) Also added were 2 fragrant Lily bulbs (variety: “Casa Blanca”) which are poking through the ground and will flower later in the season. The garden is maintained by members of the Shrewsbury Garden Club.

The diocese of New Jersey issued a new report from the Task Force for Re-entering, Re-opening and Re-
imagining and approved by the Bishop, with some significant changes based on the covid-19 pandemic. I will
summarize the most significant issues covered in these guidelines, and guidelines that impact Christ Church.
(Many of the new items pertain to churches that are only now opening for services)
The bishop will move the Diocese from stage to stage of the reopening with guidance from the Task Force as
appropriate. WE ARE OPEN FOR SERVICES!
Key points pertaining to Christ Church:
• Fully vaccinated parishioners may choose to attend church mask free – both indoors and
outdoors.
• Non-vaccinated parishioners must wear a proper mask.
• Disinfecting and cleaning should continue. For us, this means we should continue to use the
electrostatic fogger in the church and parish house.
• Non-vaccinated individuals or families with younger children will remain 6 feet apart from others
and designated pews will be available for their use so they remain 6 feet apart from each other.
• Liturgical leaders who are fully vaccinated may read, preach, serve or celebrate without a mask.
• Choirs and congregations can sing together indoors or outdoors.
• We have added the hymnals to the pews!
• Saturday services, in the event of rain, will be held in the parish house.
• We may host events both indoors and outdoors, such as coffee hour.
• Contract tracing will be discontinued.
• If any person who attends service contracts Covid, please call Mother Lisa or one of the wardens.
• Communion will continue to be offered in one kind only.
• Kneeling at the rail may be reinstituted during communion.
• Masking and distancing is still required for any children’s activities.
• Choir members, liturgical leaders, lectors or readers or any liturgical leaders whose ministry
requires speaking to the congregation will be asked to affirm their vaccination status.
The comfort level, individual needs and concerns of each parishioner will be respected. Those wishing to
maintain the mask mandate will be permitted to do so. No one will be asked about their vaccinated status
except for members of the choir. If you are not feeling well or exhibit any symptoms of illness, please do not
attend church.
Here at Christ Church we have followed the guidelines set down by our Bishop and will continue to work to
keep everyone as safe as possible. We look forward to a return of everyone to services, either outdoor at 5 pm
Saturdays or 9 am on Sundays.July 2021
