Why cycle in Italy? FOOD AND WINE As good Italians, we are obsessed with food. Every destination is discovered through its cuisine: just think of the tastings in the malga, the small restau- rants off the beaten track, or the tastings in the cellars. UNESCO CULTURE Historic centres, nature parks, rivieras, sea, moun- tains and gentle slopes are the masterpieces of rare beauty in Italy. Italy is a treasure trove which boasts the largest number of UNESCO sites. The land of mountains From trails which wind around the famous high hills - for example Moncenisio, Sestriere and Colle delle Finestre - to the lower valley, the plain of Piedmont is not flat straight away, but then it eventually starts to get flatter. What makes this land so special is the be- auty of the Langhe-Roero and Montferrat areas which are known and appreciated all over the world. It is no surprise that is a UNESCO world heritage site.
