Introduction:
My dear Confreres,
Having travelled along with Jesus in his desert experience of discerning
God’s will for him, to lay down his life for the sake of humanity, who lost
the image of God, we have come to the end of our Lenten observances
to celebrate the paschal mystery of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Jesus’
resurrection has a unique significance in the proclamation of Christian
faith. For us Christians, the experience of resurrection is a call to new
life in Christ. It calls us to accept that every pious person has a past and
every sinner has a future. We could be prisoners of the past or pioneers
of future. It all depends on our self acceptance and readiness to change.
May this celebration of Easter make us to have a new start in life as
priests and religious. I wish you all a Happy Easter.

Congregational Matters:
The year 2021 – 2022, is declared as the year of St. Joseph by Pope
Francis. The Superior General has announced the year 2021 – 2022
as the year of Mission. Rev. Fr. Emile Mayoraz has wished that the
year 2021 could be celebrated as the year of Holy Family in our
Congregation. This invites all the MSFS in their missionary endeavors
to uphold the values of Christian Families after the example of Holy
Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, that was protected by St. Joseph.
Year of Mission 2021 – 2022: Taking into account the Year of St.
Joseph, the year of Family, the Devotion to Holy Family, and the directive
of the General Chapter XX to initiate more ministries directed to families.
The year 2021 – 2022 as Year of Mission in our Congregation starts
from Pentecost Sunday, May 23, 2021, and concludes on Divine Mercy
Sunday, April 24, 2022.
The purpose of celebrating the Year of Mission
a. Bring to the forefront the apostolate of Missions in the
Congregation.
b. For the renewal of the individuals and communities in order that
we can function more effectively with credibility as agents of
renewal.
c. To impart to our young formees and scholastics the correct
orientation regarding the nature and purpose of being a member
of a missionary congregation.
d. For the renewal and rejuvenation of our parishes through PMP
(Parish Mission Preaching)
e. Focussed implementation of the directives of the General Chapter
2019 and Mission during the year of Mission.
Objectives of Mission:
1. Mission spirit, effective work knowing the nature and purpose of
our mission
2. Our task is the renewal of parish missions in the imitation of St.
Joseph, St. Francis de Sales and Fr. Mermier.
3. According to the General Chapter 2019, the method of celebration
of the mission is a process to live according to the mind and spirit
of our founder knowing why and how of things.

Blessing and Inauguration of the Arch and Annual Feast of
St. Francis de Sales at SFS Church, Anantapuramu
In the annals of MSFS Anantapuramu, January 24th 2021 is marked in
Golden letters. On that special day, we had Twin celebrations of Blessing
and Inauguration of the Newly Constructed Arch and the Annual Feast
of St. Francis de Sales. Within a short period of time this beautiful and
an architectural arch drew the huge attention and became a marking
point of this area. The Parish Priest Fr. P. Vijay Kumar, Superior Fr. P.
Raja Reddy, Fr. V. Solomon Raju and the parish community spared no
effort for the magnificent arch in honour of our heavenly Patron, Saint
Francis de Sales. It was blessed and inaugurated by very Rev. Fr. P.
Chinnappa Reddy, Provincial Superior of Visakhapatnam Province. It
was well attended by the Prelates of the Diocese, Religious Sisters
and the Faithful. On the top of the Arch, the Sacred Heart statue is
placed which was accompanied by two adoring Angels. The statues of
St. Francis de Sales and Mary, Help of Christians are placed below. Fr.
Provincial presided over the Holy Eucharistic celebration and preached
the homily. He felicitated the architect Mr. Prabhakar Das who is known
for his renowned construction brilliance. Fr. P. Vijay Kumar
acknowledged sincerely and thanked all the donors for their generous
contributions. A special thanks to Rev. Provincial for his generous heart.
The fellowship meal was served to all at the end.

MISSION FORUM MEETING
The Mission Forum Online Meeting was held on 22nd February 2021
from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. There were 48 participants. The meeting
began with a short prayer by Rev. Fr. S. Ignatius. Rev. Fr. B. Vijaya
Sandeep read out Article 24 from MSFS Constitutions. Rev Fr. Dola
Velangani Rao, PCIC of Mission, moderated the meeting. Fr. Velangani
accorded cordial welcome to Very Rev. Fr. Johnson Kallidukil, GCIC of
Mission, Very Rev. Fr. P. Chinnappa Reddy, our Provincial Superior,
Rev. Frs. Sesetti Mariadas, Manoj Pathupallil and Sandeep Reddy,
our Provincial Councillors and all the members of the Forum. Rev. Fr.
B. Vijay Kumar, the Secretary, read out the minutes of the previous
Meeting and the Forum approved it unanimously.
Very Rev Fr. Johnson Kallidukil, the GCIC of Mission, delivered the
Keynote Address on the topic THE MSFS YEAR OF MISSIONS: A CALL
TO BE TRUE TO OUR NAME. In his address, he highlighted some
directives concerning the commitment towards mission, mission
experience for the new priests, community based life and pioneering
the overseas missions. He spoke of the Objectives of Mission as
Missionary Spirit and Effective Work which are to be carried out in
accordance with the nature and purpose of our mission in the imitation
of our Founder and Patron. At the end of his address, Rev. Fr. Francis

Stephen appreciated him for all his selfless services to the Congregation
and extended heartfelt thanks to him on behalf of the Forum.
Fr. Velangani welcomed Rev. Fr. Inna Reddy, the Province Coordinator
for the Cause of the Founder, to address the Forum. Fr. Inna Reddy
had briefed about the current process of the glorification of our Founder
by way of intensifying devotion to our founder, gathering the witnesses
and preaching on the life of our Founder. Fr. Velangani welcomed
Rev. Fr. Sesetti Mariadas, Province Coordinator for Fransalian
Associates (FA) to address the Forum. He appreciated the efforts being
carried by some of our confreres in missions towards establishing local
units of Fransalian Associates and he requested all the members of
the Forum to continue to establish and strengthen the local units of
Fransalian Associates. He said that parish is an ideal platform for lay
faithful, who are genuinely interested in spiritual growth, to practice
holiness.
It was followed by a General Sharing and Evaluation of Pastoral Ministry
by every Parish Priest and Mission incharge. Later on Fr. Velangani
gave the members some informations, and exhortations. Very Rev. Fr.
Chinnappa Reddy, the Provincial Superior, addressed the Forum
requested the confreres to collaborate with the incharges of the Cause
of our Founder, Fransalian Associates and Youth Ministry. He
appreciated all the members of the Forum for their dedicated services,
especially during the time of Covid pandemic. Fr. Velangani proposed
the Vote of Thanks and Rev. Fr. Tom Jose said the concluding prayer
and Angelus.

wish him all the best.
2. Contributions from abroad to any confrere or any mission has to
be channeled through the province. Those who are receiving
contributions from abroad have to inform the Provincial and the

3. The book “Growing in Holiness” by Fr. Bavari Suresh Babu is
translated in Telugu, by the scholastics in SFS Study House, Eluru,
under the direction of Fr. Sesetty Mariadas. Books are available
with Fr. Sesetty Mariadas.
4. The book “Follow Me” edited by Fr. Baviri Suresh Babu is available

passed away on 4th January 2021.

passed away on 12th February 2021.

The rainbow touching the thorn of the aspalathus plant makes it
