1. COMPLIANCE WITH CURRENT COVID 19 RESTRICTIONS
The need for full compliance on the current level of local restrictions
FUNDAMENTAL under the ‘Plan for Living with Covid-19’ to ensure sailing, windsurfing
PRINCIPLES & powerboating remains a ‘low risk’ activity
FOR DECISION
TO GO AFLOAT 2. PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY
Take personal responsibility for your own risk and decision making
3. SELF HELP
Ensure that you have the means to return to shore without assistance
(alternative means of propulsion) in the event of the unexpected in
non-distress situations
4. RISK ASSESSMENT
Individual and Activity Organisers to assess the risks associated with
the conditions, equipment, experience of sailors, sailing area, and risk
of virus spread, before making the decision to go afloat

Basis under Government Plan
Impact on Irish Sailing Activity
for Reopening Society and Business
Organised indoor gatherings
These are controlled environments with a named event organiser, owner or manager These restrictions apply to non-physical activity indoors eg in a sailing context; social winter
talks, prizegivings etc…
For most venues, a maximum of 100 patrons can attend
Up to 200 patrons are allowed for larger venues where strict 2 metre seated social distancing
and one-way controls for entry and exit can be implemented
Organised outdoor gatherings
These are controlled environments with a named event organiser, owner or manager For most venues, a maximum of 200 patrons can attend gatherings ashore
Boats on the water are considered as self contained units independent of each other. Maximum
number restrictions do not apply to boats on the water
Sports - Training
Normal training sessions and games can take place indoors and outdoors with protective All Irish Sailing training activities permitted

You can attend work for specific business requirements and on a staggered attendance basis. Advice for Club committee meetings/AGM’s etc is they should be held remotely where possible

Commercial Endorsements etc). No external visitors admitted.
Domestic travel
No restrictions. No internal travel restrictions - All Ireland
Schools, early learning and childcare services, adult and higher education Irish Sailing shorebased training continues with protective measures in place.
Those aged over 70 and the medically vulnerable

Organised indoor gatherings
These are controlled environments with a named event organiser, owner or manager. Restrictions apply to non-physical activity indoors eg in a sailing context;, social winter talks,
prizegivings etc…
Permitted in pods or groups of up to 6. The total number of patrons depends on the size of the
venue allowing for pods to be kept separate.
Organised outdoor gatherings
These are controlled environments with a named event organiser, owner or manager. Up to 100 patrons are permitted for the majority of venues ashore.
Boats on the water are considered as self contained units independent of each other. Maximum
number restrictions do not apply to boats on the water.
Sports - Training
Outdoors: training can take place in pods of up to 15 (exemption for professional/elite/inter- We recommend you use the established training ratios of for example 1:6 or 1:8 with an

Outdoors: Non contact training only in groups of up to 15 (exemption for Training/Coaching for single handed, or multi handed with same household crew
