WELCOME TO PADERBORN STATION

Telephone Connections/Disconnections
The country code for Germany is +49. e.g.: 0049 52549822771
When dialing the UK from Germany dial: 0044 then drop the first zero from
your number e.g.: 0044 (0) 208111222

It is important to be aware of the terms and conditions of your service
agreement. If you sign for a contract without fully understanding it, you are
liable to pay for what you have signed for.

Many German phone and internet plans can take several weeks to set up (3-
10 weeks) and many are only available with a 2 year minimum contract. They
may also require that you cancel several months in advance in order to avoid
automatic (and binding) contract extension. Please be aware that some
mobile contracts cannot be cancelled before they end, irrelevant if you are
moving back to the UK and show a valid assignment order.

If you wish to cancel your contract due to assignment or you are moving
house within Germany, you can collect a cancellation/relocation forms from
the HIVE or download them directly from www.BFGnet.de
Please note that you need to allow a minimum of 3 months to cancel your
contract permanently.

Mobile Phones
Be careful when you are buying a mobile phone, calls here are generally more
expensive than in the UK and there are a lot of different contracts available,
starting at 2 years plus. Have a look around before you decide what you are
going to buy. A notice period of 3 months is required for cancellation of
contract. Pay as you go top up cards can be bought from supermarkets, petrol
stations, and mobile phone shops.

BFBS TV
BFBS box can be collected from BFBS Sennelager.
Returns of the BFBS boxes are to be to BFBS Sennelager.
For more information contact BFBS Germany directly on +49 5254 804 4100.

to +44 (0)203 750 4567.

Store or on Google Play and then login to the new BFBS TV Player using your
Defence Gateway login and password. For more details go to
http://www.getbfbs.com/bfbs-player

Recycling
Germany is a huge advocate of recycling. Each quarter will be issued with a
number of different refuse bins/bags and waste must be split up appropriately,
otherwise they won’t be collected or a fine can be issued.

Plastic & Metal – Yellow Bin Lids
Paper & Card – Blue bin Lids
Biodegradable Waste – peelings, food and grass etc – Green Bin
Other – nappies, mixed waste etc – Black Bins

                                                                                10
Edited March 2019
Bins are collected on a Rota basis. Your Estate Manager can help with details
of what is collected and when.

Many drinks bottles have a PFAND (deposit) which will be reimbursed on
return. Machines are normally located in the drinks sections of supermarkets
or sometimes at the till point.

For more information on recycling and rubbish disposal, please call into the
HIVE to pick up the Local Community Information Sheet.
