PUTTING IT TOGETHER YOURSELF
Since 2017, Susi and Stephan of Trip
Unlimited have fostered a plan to turn
their backs on the socially acceptable nine-
to-five in favour of a long-term circum-
navigation in a self-built truck and, with
their departure date set for 2022, they have
allowed themselves ample time to make
all the necessary provisions. After much
deliberation, they purchased an ex-fire bri-
gade Mercedes 1224 with a mere 17,000 km
on the clock and in excellent condition.
Following disassembly of unwanted fire-
fighting equipment, a four-point sub-frame
was made and the cabin built to order by
BoXmanufaktur with the windows, doors,
skylights, hatches and even the bathroom
walls pre-installed. Following their design
to accommodate two people for long peri-
ods of time, Stephan and Susi are currently
equipping the cabin to their required level
of comfort.

CAMPER(VAN) CONVERSIONS

NORTH AMERICA WITH A MAN 6X6
Andreas Bruckner, co-founder of RRE Global, has built
his business upon three essential pillars: his expertise as a trav-
eller and vehicle builder, his intimate understanding of, and
long-standing relationships with, European manufacturers,
and a commercial mindset that puts the customer first. Part of
his overall concept entails not only his passion for vehicle-
supported travel but the unconditional faith in every compo-
nent and process he delivers. His monstrous MAN 6x6 may be
regarded as overkill by many, but is the undeniable proof of his
own recipe for the long haul providing comfort, durability and

The cabin’s architecture and interior design were realised by

manufacturers RRE Global represents. Having already coped
with sub-zero temperatures in the north, the heat and chal-
lenging terrain in Mexico, this truck is currently touring North
America and can be seen at shows across the continent where
visitors are welcome to the touchy-feely experience and can ask
questions or make appointments for one-on-one consultation.
CONCLUSION
I do not own a vehicle built by BoXmanufaktur, nor do I own
any products supplied by either company. My opinion is based
upon unbiased, independent research.
The overall workmanship and attention to detail of cabins and
installations made by BoXmanufaktur are tribute to decades of
experience. RRE Global’s supplier relationships and the exclusive
range of products are testimony to the wealth of expertise and
travel experience which inspired the company foundation. The
professionalism and competence of each proprietor and their
employees are assets respected by both suppliers and customers.
Value for money in each case is good and fair, reflecting German
engineering and premium products made in Germany. Completion
and delivery of orders are timely and satisfactory. Finally, after sales
support and the resolution of problems or warranty-related issues
provided by both organisations have been confirmed as swift and
correct by customers.
