NEW MEXICO OFFICIAL 2022-2023 VISITOR GUIDE - VISITRUIDOSO.COM - Visit Ruidoso
WHAT’S
 NEW!
We can't wait for you to experience all of these new perspectives of Ruidoso! Ice skating, live events,
wine tasting, and dinner all have new venues this year that you won't want to miss.

 WINTER WONDERLAND AT WINGFIELD PARK
Christmastime in Ruidoso has always been special, but thanks to the
Parks and Recreation Department, it just keeps getting better. To
celebrate the holidays, Wingfield Park is transformed into a Winter
Wonderland. To add even more fun to the season, it is also home to
the village's newest seasonal addition, the Ice Skating Rink.

SANTA FE FURNITURE EVENTS CENTER BRINGS
ADDITIONAL FESTIVALS & CONCERTS TO RUIDOSO
 DOWNS RACE TRACK THIS SUMMER
Fans attending the races at Ruidoso Downs Race Track will find
even more festivals and events to enjoy while attending the races
 this summer.

“We’ve added an entire new dimension to our facility this summer
by adding an events center,” Marketing Director Tim Keithley said.
“By expanding our festivals and concerts, it just gives our racing fans
 more activities to enjoy.”

The new Santa Fe Furniture Events Center, which is located next
to Billy the Kid Casino, features a slate of events that are new to the
track calendar along with the traditional events such as Zia Festival
and Chile the Kid Beer and Wine Festival Presented by City Bank.

A few new events that we are excited for are Tacos & Tequila Festival
(June 3-5), Ruidoso Downs Red Wine & Brews Festival (July 1-3),
and Summer Concert Series' Stoney Larue (July 16) and Josh
 Abbott Band (July 23)!

There will be vendors set up for shopping every weekend in the
Events Center and in the grandstand this season.

Ruidoso Downs Race Track opens for live horse racing on
Friday, May 27 and runs Fridays through Sundays including
holidays through Labor Day, September 5.

General Admission to the races is free, and reserved
seating is available. Call the box office at 575-378-4141 for
 seating information.

For a full list of what events are coming to this new venue
see our calendar on page 35.

NOISY WATER WINERY
 TASTING ROOM HAS A
 NEW HOME AND IT'S
 BETTER THAN EVER!
 Noisy Water Winery is growing
 and their latest addition to
Ruidoso is in the heart of
 Midtown. They have moved
 their main tasting room across
the street to 2331 Sudderth. You
 may recognize this big building;
it used to be an Irish pub called
 Grace O'Malley's and has been
 vacant since late 2016.

 The beautifully renovated
 building is the newest tasting
room in town. The indoor space
 is welcoming, spacious and
 tastefully decorated. The patio is
a relaxing spot where one can sit
 and watch the shoppers strolling
through town while sipping on a
 glass of prize-winning wine.

They offer a variety of fun food options and to enhance the
experience they frequently have live music.

For more information, visit noisywaterwinery.com.

CORNERSTONE BAKERY AND CAFE IS NOW
OPEN FOR DINNER
Cornerstone Bakery & Cafe, a favorite spot to have
breakfast and lunch, is now open for dinner. The dinner menu
offers a wonderful and exciting variety of entrees that are
sure to delight your culinary senses. In keeping with their
long-standing commitment, the food is consistent, they
keep it fresh, seasonal, and accommodate special diets and
restrictions as needed. Reservations are recommended but
walk-ins are welcomed.

They are still working on their official dinner menu, so you'll
have to go check them out to see what's cookin' tonight!

To view their breakfast and lunch menus and to stay
up-to-date when they post their dinner menu, visit

LOCAL
VOICES Here's what the locals have to say about their village!

Stevie and Michelle Mac moved from Dallas, Texas to Ruidoso in 2019.
Michelle works for the Ruidoso Municipal Schools and Stevie is retired.

My wife Michelle and I consider Ruidoso a little piece of paradise. We
enjoy hiking in the vicinity, walking our dogs and allowing them to play
at the dog park. We love attending the Village festivals, crafts fairs and events
throughout the year at Wingfield Park and various outdoor venues; Hanging
out at our favorite local establishments for dinner or drinks, and listening
to the local bands playing them. We also enjoy off-road jeeping in Lincoln
County and surrounding county trails. I'm an avid skier at Ski Apache. It's a
wonderful environment for an active lifestyle. - Stevie Mac

Amanda is the Media and Marketing Director at Midtown Mountain Campground
& RV Park. She and her family of 5 moved to Ruidoso in 2021 and she started her
new position MMC&RV in August where she gets to work with her parents. Her
husband, Jerod, is also an amazing photographer who was featured on the cover of our
 2018-2019 Ruidoso Visitor Guide.

We love all things Ruidoso. Our family recently moved from Lubbock, Texas and
spend all of our free time in the gorgeous great outdoors! We love the Cedar
Creek & Grindstone Lake trail systems for family biking and hiking appropriate for all
ages! Hall of Flame Burger is a definite go-to for our family of 5! - Amanda Foster

Julie Gilliland was born and raised in Texas. She made Ruidoso her home 30
years ago. She is an Associate Broker at Zia Real Estate. She has been involved
in the community through the Parks and Rec commission, Lodgers Tax and
 economic development.

There are so many reasons I love living in Ruidoso. My top two reasons are
the people who live and vacation here and the beauty and opportunities to
be out in nature in so many ways. I think our air is cleaner and our village is
growing in positive ways. It’s a hidden surprise in New Mexico! I love this village
and the people who live here. - Julie Gilliland

The Tomlins are volunteer extraordinaires in Ruidoso. Pam is a Mental
health counselor at Presbyterian Medical Services. Dave retired from the
Associated Press and the Ruidoso News. And Lizzy is their exceptional
 11-year-old daughter.

When we retired to Ruidoso after 25 years in New York City, we
were (and still are) grateful for Spencer Theatre. - Pam Tomlin
