Gentleman &
Friend to all
We are deeply saddened to
hear of the sudden passing
of Vic Hocking. Vic’s love
and support of the game
was endless.
First involvement with baseball was
back in the Early ’80s with Canterbury
Bankstown Baseball Club. With his endless
support to the club, he became the Patron
of the Club which then lead to the Club
becoming the Vikings.
An absolute gentleman & friend to all
that crossed his path. Vic was also the
Commissioner of BNSW for some time,
again putting his time and effort into
helping promote our game.
His love and support of the game grew
and continued with him serving as the
Commissioner of BNSW for several years.
Vic also served as the Manager (EO) of the
NSW Claxton Shield Team highlighted by
2 Titles in 2004 & 2005.

Junior Squad
Announcement
Baseball Australia has locked
in its inaugural National
Junior Squad.
The squad will take part in a camp at the
Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra
from April 3-11 as part of Boral Team
Australia’s preparations for the 2021
WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup in Florida.
It features 17 players from Queensland
and Victoria, 15 from New South Wales,
nine from Western Australia, two from
South Australia and one from the
Australian Capital Territory.
Players were chosen following an in-depth
review of information collected at the
National Showcase Series events around
the country earlier this year.

Grant Program
Applications open for the
Local Sport Defibrillator Grant
Program.
NSW sports clubs and councils can apply
for a share of $1 million to purchase
Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).
An AED is a life-saving device. It delivers a
controlled shock to a person experiencing
cardiac arrest, increasing their chances
of survival. The Local Sport Defibrillator
Grant Program provides NSW sports clubs
and councils the opportunity to acquire
an AED package for their club or sports
facility at a reduced cost.
Applications for the Local Sport
Defibrillator Grant Program close at 5pm
on Monday 12 April 2021.

vouchers can be used with any approved Active Kids provider, to help cover costs towards

December and voucher two is valid July to December. After 1 July 2020, the second voucher can
be claimed immediately after the first voucher.
