1. PRIORITY ON THE COURSE
(a) The tee is closed for general play whenever it is reserved for
competitions, matches or society bookings.
(b) No more than 4 balls may be played in any match, and no
more than 4 players are permitted in a foursomes match,
unless by prior permission of the General Manager.
(c) Any match playing a whole round and starting at the 1st tee
is entitled to pass a match playing a shorter round. Players
coming from the 9th or 18th have no priority on the first tee,
except in official Club matches where players starting at any
tee other than the 1st will have priority coming from the 18th
to the 1st tee.
(d) If a match fails to keep its place on the course and loses one
clear hole on the players in front, it must invite the match
following to pass.
(e) If there is no reserved tee time, all of the players intending to
play in a game must be present on the tee, to establish that
team’s precedence in order of play.
(f) When the course is open for general play, courtesy of the tee
will be offered to the Captains.
(g) A player must not play more than 2 balls on the course or
pitch and putt course and must not use any part of the course
proper as a practice area.
(h) Greens staff have priority whilst working on the course.
2. COMPETITIONS – GENERAL
(a) Conditions of Entry for All Competitions
i) All players must register prior to starting their round,
either on the HowDidIDo phone app or in the Pro Shop
(or Starter’s Desk) and collect their scorecard. Entry fees
will be deducted automatically from Green Cards at the
time of registration. Sufficient funds must be available on
your Green Card to enable you to register.
ii) It is the player’s responsibility to confirm that the correct
title of the competition, date, player’s name, and course
handicap are recorded on the scorecard. Course handicap
is expressed as an integer and represents the number
of strokes the player receives for competition purposes
before allowances.
iii) Priority on the first tee is according to the start sheet or
the order of the draw.iv) Players should be at the tee 5 minutes before their
starting time and be ready to play. They must drive off on
time and play without delay throughout the round.
v) Players arriving on the tee, ready to play within 5
minutes after their starting time will be penalised under
the R & A Rules of Golf 5.3a - loss of the first hole in
match play, or two strokes at the first hole in stroke play.
Players arriving more than five minutes late will be
disqualified.
vi) Scorecards must be completed legibly, signed by both
player and marker.
vii) All competitions are operated on the PSI (Player Score
Input) computer system. Immediately after completion
of play, all players are required to enter their gross scores,
either via the HowDidIDo phone app or on the terminal
in the Lounge, and post their scorecard in the designated
box.
viii) Players cannot NR their round. If a player, having started
a hole has no score to record, they must enter “NR” or
0 (zero) for that hole only and continue to complete the
remaining holes. Scores must be input on the PSI system
and scorecards returned as normal. Failure to return
a scorecard in these circumstances will be dealt with
in accordance with rule 7.1(b) of the World Handicap
System (WHS) Rules of Handicapping 2020 (Penalty
Score).
ix) Players must mark NS (not started) for any hole that is
not commenced.
x) Members who cancel or fail to turn up on the day of
competition are liable for payment of the entry fee.
xi) Members must not enter their names on competition
start sheets if they do not intend to play in unfavourable
weather conditions.
xii) Players may use buggies in all competitions except the
Gents’ Club Championship and any other competitions
where the rules do not permit the use of buggies.
(b) Failure to Comply
i) The names of members who fail to comply with the
Conditions of Entry will be listed on the competitions
results notice boards.
ii) Members who fail to comply on 3 occasions in any year
will be banned from entering any club competitions for a
month following the 3rd offence. Further non-compliance
will result in disciplinary action being taken.Porsche Centre

i) Cup, Trophy, and Prize Table Competitions (Stroke Play)
Members must hold a WHS handicap index and must
also have submitted a minimum of 3 acceptable scores
within singles Wollaton Park competitions or General
Play rounds played under stroke play rules during the
12 months prior to the competition. (Except Gentlemen’s
Veterans’ Cup for which 1 acceptable score in previous 12
months is the minimum requirement.)
ii) Cup, Trophy, and Prize Table Competitions (Knockouts)
Members must hold a WHS handicap index.
iii) Junior members
Juniors should refer to Committee Rulings Section 9 and
also to the conditions of entry on each competition start
sheet.
(d) Suspension or Cancellation of Competition Play
During competition play, the Head Green Keeper (or
his deputy on duty), the Professional, the General
Manager or a member of the Committee overseeing the
competition, may close the course or re-open it, should
conditions, in their opinion, warrant it.
Discontinue play immediately - One prolonged note on
klaxon - players must cease play immediately having first
marked the position of their ball.
Discontinue play - Three consecutive notes on klaxon
repeated - players may complete the hole being played or
mark their ball as it lies.
Play to resume - Two short notes on the klaxon repeated.
The klaxon will be kept in, and sounded from, the
professional’s shop.
A second klaxon will be located in the course toilets at
the 9th tee - players in the vicinity are requested to sound
this klaxon for the benefit of players on the back 9 of the
course.
(e) Competition Ties
i) Any ties in competitions where the handicap stroke table
is not relevant, such as individual Medal play, will be
decided on the scores for the last 9, 6, 3, 2, 1, and then 12,
15, by deducting the relevant fraction, i.e. one-half, one-
third, one-sixth, etc. of the handicaps from the score for
those holes.
ii) Any ties in competitions where the handicap stroke
table is relevant, such as four-ball stroke play and
individual Stableford competitions, will be decided

iii) In 36-hole competitions, ties will be decided on the
last 18 holes and then as above, except the Gents’ Club
Championship where a tie for first place will be decided
by sudden-death play off on the same day. Ties for other
places will be decided on the last 18 holes and then as
above.
(f) Competition Formats
Members are reminded that start sheet posting dates, course
access and availability may vary for certain competitions,
e.g. Invitation Days, Captains’ Days, etc. and subject to
competition format, e.g. shotgun start, two-tee start, etc.
(g) Knock-Out Competitions
i) Members must not enter knock-out or league
competitions unless they are prepared to arrange
matches, play all matches on time and can offer midweek
and weekend dates.
ii) Entry to Knockout Competitions will be via the
HowDidIDo app unless otherwise stated. The draw
will be conducted electronically by the Pro Shop and
members informed by email. All participants are equally
responsible for making contact. It is a condition of entry
that members consent to their email and phone details
being made available to their opponent to assist in the
organisation of matches.
iii) All parties in matches not played to time will be
disqualified unless (i) one party concedes a walk-over
and (ii) written notification is submitted to the General
Manager before the last date of the tie, detailing the
circumstances which have prevented the match being
played. Thereafter, only one party may be disqualified.
iv) Knock-out matches are permitted to delay or suspend
play due to exceptionally bad weather by agreement of
all participants. If the match is started on the same day
or any subsequent day, the competition must restart from
the next tee immediately after the last hole completed.
v) Knock-out matches may start from either the 1st or the
10th tee by agreement of all parties. If agreement cannot
be reached the match must start from the 1st tee.
vi) Match play, in any form, is prohibited on competition
days until the last competitors have teed off.
(h) Prize Presentations
Prize winners who are unable to attend should submit
apologies and arrange for collection of their prizes, otherwiseprizes will be forfeited. Prizes should be collected within one
month of competition date.
(i) Competition Age Qualifications
Gents’ Seniors’ Opens 55 years and over
Gents’ Seniors’ Medals 65 years and over
Gents’ Veterans’ Cup 70 years and over
Gents’ Seniors’ Friendly Matches 55 years and over
Ladies’ Joyce Hyde Cup 50 years and over
(j) Hole in one
Members achieving a hole-in-one during an official club
competition (excluding team and AmAm competitions)
will be eligible for a bar tab of up to £75; the member’s
scorecard, clearly marked, must be returned to the General
Manager. Members achieving a hole-in-one in other play, duly
witnessed, will be presented with a bottle of whisky or sherry.
3. SATURDAY COMPETITIONS (7 DAY MEMBERS)
(a) Competitions for 7-day members will be held on Saturdays.
Where there is a Ladies’ and a Gentlemen’s competition on
the same day, these will be of a similar format and will be
played concurrently, utilising the same start sheet. Gents and
Ladies may play in the same match, whilst playing their own
competitions, each playing off their respective tees and stroke
index.
(b) Start sheet booking will open on Mondays 12 days prior to the
competition.
(c) A member may enter his/her own name and the names of
two other players in a three-ball match; in a team competition
a member may only enter his/her team, e.g. in a better ball
the name of him/herself and partner.
(d) If there are any vacant times on the start sheet on the day of
play, 7-day members may utilise these times for social golf;
these times cannot be pre-booked and players must register
in person in the Pro Shop no earlier than 1 hour in advance
of the vacant tee time. The format for social golf must be of
a similar or lesser format than that of the competition and
competition players will have priority on the start sheet and
on the course.
(e) Start times will run throughout the day, subject to sunrise and
sunset. The course will open at the first competition start time;
no play is permitted prior to this time. The 1st tee will be open
for general play after the last competitors have left the 1st
green. Play will not be permitted from any other tee whilst the
competition is in progress.
(f) Competition results will be published separately for both
Gents and Ladies competitions on the notice boards inthe respective locker rooms. Credits will be applied to the
winners’ Green Cards as per the Prize Schedules.
4. WEDNESDAY COMPETITIONS (7 AND 6 DAY LADIES)
(a) Ladies’ competitions for 7-day and 6-day members will be
held on Wednesday mornings; the 1st tee will be reserved for
30 minutes prior to the first competitors’ start time. The 1st tee
will re-open 30 minutes after the last competitors’ start time,
and players must maintain at least one clear hole between
their match and the last lady competitors. Play will not be
permitted from any other tee whilst the competition is in
progress.
(b) Start sheet booking will open on Wednesdays two weeks prior
to the competition. Details will be shown on each competition
notice. Ladies wishing to play in the competition outside of
the times listed on the start sheet should advise the General
Manager. Ladies playing at these times will not have priority
over other players on the course.
(c) Players in 9-hole competitions should enter their names on
the appropriate start sheet but should be prepared to move
into an earlier time slot in order to play immediately after the
last 18-hole players.
(d) Competition results will be published on the notice board
in the Ladies’ locker room and credits will be applied to the
winners’ Green Cards as per the Prize Schedules.
(e) Players accessing the course on Wednesday mornings prior
to Ladies’ competitions should be aware that the competition
format is normally 2-ball and that competition players will
have priority.
5. THURSDAY COMPETITIONS (GENTLEMEN)
(a) Gentlemen’s medal competitions for 7-day and 6-day
members will be held on one Thursday per month. In
addition, competitions with different formats will be added
from time to time.
(b) Start sheet booking will open on Mondays 10 days prior to the
competition.
(c) A member may enter his own name and the names of two
other players in a 3-ball match; in a team competition a
member may only enter his/her team, e.g. in a better ball the
name of him/herself and partner.
d) If there are any vacant times on the start sheet on the day,
playing members may utilise these times for social golf;
these times cannot be pre-booked and players must register
in person in the Pro Shop no earlier than 1 hour in advanceof the vacant tee time. The format for social golf must be of
a similar or lesser format than that of the competition, and
competition players will have priority on the start sheet and
on the course.
(e) Start times will run throughout the day, subject to sunrise
and sunset. The course will open at the first competition start
time; no play is permitted prior to this time. The 1st tee will
be open for general play after the last competitors have left
the 1st green. Play from other tees whilst the competition is in
progress will be at the discretion of the Pro Shop.

in the Gents’ locker room and credits will be applied to the
winners’ Green Cards as per the Prize Schedules.
6. NO TEE RESERVATION STABLEFORD COMPETITIONS
a) Singles Stableford competitions will be held on Thursdays
and are open to all Gentleman playing members.
(b) Singles Stableford competitions will be held on Sundays and
are open to all playing members.
(c) These competitions will run throughout the day, with no
pre-booked start sheet and no tee reservation. All players
must register prior to starting their round, either on the
HowDidIDo phone app or in the Pro Shop and collect
their scorecard. Entry fees will be deducted automatically
from Green Cards at the time of entry. Immediately after
completion of play, all players are required to enter their
gross scores, either via the HowDidIDo phone app or on
the terminal in the Lounge, and post their scorecard in the
designated box.
(d) Matches may comprise two, three or four balls. Players in
the competition may play with players not taking part in the
competition, but they must have their scorecard marked by a
player with a WHS handicap Index.
(e) Players in the competition will not have priority on the
course.
(f) Thursday results will be published on the notice board in the
Gents’ locker room and credits will be applied to the winners’
Green Cards as per the Prize Schedules.
(g) Sunday results will be published as a combined competition
(gents and ladies) on the notice boards in both locker rooms.
Credits will be applied to the winners’ Green Cards as per the
Prize Schedules.7. GENTLEMEN’S COMPETITIONS
(a) Medal qualifiers and medal finals
i) Members who return the best net scores in the 1st, 2nd
and 3rd divisional medals on Thursdays and Saturdays
will qualify for the Medal Finals. Members who return
the best gross score will compete for the scratch prize on
Medal Finals days.
ii) All tied winning net/gross scores will be decided by card
play-off in accordance with section 2(e)(i) above.
iii) Once a player has qualified for the 1st, 2nd or 3rd
Divisional Medal Finals, he cannot qualify again in any
other division at a later date and must play off his current
course handicap on Medal Finals Day, playing in the
Divisional Final in which he qualified.
iv) If a member who has already qualified for the Medal
Finals subsequently wins another medal competition,
then the next best net/gross score will qualify.
v) Thursday and Saturday Medal Qualifiers and Finals are
separate competitions and members may qualify in either
or both.
(b) Singles Competitions
All singles competitions must have a minimum of eight
entrants in each division, otherwise the competition shall be
void.
(c) Winter Competitions
i) Scores in winter singles competitions will be acceptable
as defined by the WHS, unless conditions are deemed
not to comply with the rules set out by the WHS for
acceptable scores. This decision will be taken on the
day by the Head Greenkeeper, Professional or General
Manager.
ii) Competition results will be published for one division
(all handicaps) and credits will be applied to the winners’
Green cards as per the Prize Schedules.
8. LADIES’ COMPETITIONS
(a) Medal Qualifiers / Finals
i) Members who return the best net scores in the 1st and
2nd divisional medals on Wednesdays will qualify for the
Medal Finals. Members who return the best gross score
will compete for the scratch prize on Medal Finals Day.
ii) Members who return the best net score and best gross
score on Saturdays (across all divisions) will qualify for
Medal Finals Day.
iii) Medal Finals Day will be held on a Wednesday.iv) All tied winning net/gross scores will be decided by card
play-off in accordance with section 2(e)(i) above.
v) Once a player has qualified for the 1st or 2nd divisional
Medal Finals, she cannot qualify again in another
division at a later date, and must play off her current
course handicap on Medal Finals Day, playing in the
divisional final in which she qualified.
vi) Spring and Autumn Meetings will be run as Medal
Qualifiers.
(b) Par / Stableford Qualifiers / Finals
i) Members who return the best scores in the 1st and 2nd
divisional Stableford or Par competitions on Wednesdays
will qualify for the Par Finals.
ii) Members who return the best score on Saturdays (across
all divisions) will qualify for the Par Finals.
iii) Par Finals will be held on a Wednesday.
iv) All tied winning scores will be decided by card play-off
in accordance with section 2(e)(ii) above.
v) Once a player has qualified for the 1st or 2nd divisional
Par Finals, she cannot qualify again in another division
at a later date and must play off her current course
handicap on Par Finals Day, playing in the divisional
final in which she qualified.
(c) The scores of 7-day Ladies playing in Saturday competitions
which are “alternate day” to corresponding Wednesday
competitions will be combined with the relevant Wednesday
scores to give a combined result for prize fund allocation only.
(d) Competition Pre-Draws
There will be a pre-draw for certain competitions, e.g. Spring
and Autumn Meetings, Easter Texas Scramble, Captain v Vice
Captain. Entry sheets will be posted for such competitions,
indicating that a Pre-Draw will be drawn and posted prior to
the competition day.
9. JUNIOR AND INTERMEDIATE MEMBERS
(a) Junior members under 18 years of age must enter
competitions with at least one adult playing member or a
designated (PGA) member of the Professional’s staff.
(b) Knock-Out, Trophy and Prize Table Competitions:
Intermediates may enter unrestricted. Junior boys under
18 years of age with a handicap of 12 or less may enter
unrestricted. Junior girls under 18 years of age with a
handicap of 22 or less may enter unrestricted. No other junior
members may enter such competitions.(c) Gentlemen’s Thursday/Saturday, Medal/Stableford
competitions: Intermediates may enter unrestricted. Junior
boys under 18 years of age with a handicap of 12 or less may
enter unrestricted. Junior boys with a higher handicap may
enter these competitions only if there are vacancies on the
start sheet 3 days prior to the competition. They will pay £1
entry fee and play for the junior prize voucher (minimum
value £5). They cannot qualify for medal or salver finals.
(d) Entry conditions for Juniors will be posted on the start sheet.
(e) Junior and Intermediate members have access to the course
seven days per week, except at those times when the course
is closed for matches, competitions or society bookings and in
accordance with competition conditions of entry.
10. HANDICAPS
(a) A new member, or a member who has nominated another
club as their Home Club, should provide their CDH number,
so that their handicap record can be created. Members are
not eligible to play in club competitions until they have a
handicap record at this club.
(b) New members who do not hold a WHS handicap index
must submit three 18 hole scores, six 9 hole, or a combination
of both adding up to 54 holes, before being allocated a
handicap index, and will not be eligible to participate in
club competitions until this has been allocated. The cards,
dated and signed by a player with an official handicap index,
should be submitted together to the Professional Shop.
(c) A member who is also a member of another club and has
nominated the other club as his/her Home Club, may take
part in any club competition, provided that his/her official
handicap index has been confirmed and that he/she meets the
required entry criteria.
(d) Handicap divisions – Gentlemen’s handicap index - 1st
division up to 8.9, 2nd division 9.0-14.8, 3rd division 14.9
– 54.0. Ladies handicap index: 1st division up to 25.2, 2nd
division 25.3 to 54.0.
(e) All singles medal/stroke play/stableford/par competitions
are competitions for handicapping purposes, unless stated
otherwise.
11. GENERAL PLAY SCORES (WORLD HANDICAP SYSTEM)
(a) A General Play score is defined as being one in which an
organised competition is not being contested, and golfers are
playing either a casual round, or competitively, but not in an
event organised by a Committee.(b) All players may submit a General Play score for handicap
purposes, provided it meets the criteria set out in subsections
(c) and (d) below.
(c) A score is acceptable for handicap purposes if the round has
been played:
(i) in an authorized format of play over at least the
minimum number of holes required for either a 9-hole or
an 18-hole score to be acceptable;
(ii) in the company of at least one other person, who may
also act as a marker;
(iii) by the Rules of Golf;
(iv) on a golf course with a current Course Rating and Slope
Rating, where length and normal playing difficulty is
maintained at a consistent level.
(v) Score cards must be marked by and clearly signed by a
fellow player with a handicap index.
(d) Players intending to return a General Play score must register
in the Pro Shop prior to play, and immediately on completion
of play enter their gross scores, either by the HowDidIDo
app or by requesting the Professional staff to record on the
ClubV1 system. The signed scorecard must be left in the
designated box in accordance with rule 4.4 of the WHS Rules
of Handicapping 2020.
(e) A General Play score may be returned at any club, regardless
of whether the player is a member, provided it meets the
criteria set out in subsection (c) above. The method of pre-
registering for the round and returning the score may differ
depending upon the system in place at the host club.
(f) A player who registers for a General Play score and does not
return that card will be subject to action under rule 7.1(b) of
the WHS Rules of Handicapping 2020 (Penalty Score).
12. PRACTICE AREAS
(a) No restrictions for full playing members.
(b) Social members (excluding Category 11) are permitted to
use the Putting Green and Pitch and Putt course, but not the
Practice Areas unless receiving tuition from the Professional
Staff.
(c) Players must not play more than 2 balls on the course or on
the Pitch and Putt Course.
13. CAR PARKING / ACCESS
(a) The speed limit on Lime Tree Avenue is 15mph and must be
strictly observed. Please be aware of pedestrians, cyclists and
dogs.(b) Members’ vehicles must be parked in the Car Park, in a
marked parking space, not on the grass (unless otherwise
directed) and not near the Clubhouse. Two spaces are
designated for disabled parking; blue badges must be clearly
displayed in the vehicles.
(c) No access is permitted to and from the Club through Wollaton
Park. SatNav systems do not recognize that Lime Tree Avenue
is a closed road beyond the Club Car Park; SatNav users
should key in “Oundle Drive, NG8 1BN” as the destination
address and then take the next left to access the Club.
14. MEMBERS’ GUESTS
Members can introduce guests at any time during the week
and on Sundays. On Saturday’s members can introduce
guests after 2pm from April to October and after 12pm from
November to March. Members introducing guests to play on
the course must ensure that the guests accompany them into
the Pro’s Shop to register in person and the member must
play with their guests. Members introducing guests into the
Clubhouse must sign-in their guests in the Visitors’ Book in
the entrance hall.
15. MOBILE PHONES
Mobile Phones are not permitted (in phone mode) on the
Course, on the Patio or in the Clubhouse, except in a dire
emergency.
16. DRESS RULES
On the course - Smart, appropriate golf attire and golf shoes
must be worn at all times.
Acceptable - Golf caps (peak to front), golf hats, appropriate
wind or waterproof golf tops/trousers. Gents should wear
polo shirts, turtle/polo neck tops, tucked in to appropriate
full-length trousers or tailored knee length shorts, with
long plain socks or white sports socks. Ladies should wear
collared/turtle/polo neck tops, appropriate golf trousers, 3 /4
trousers, shorts or skirts.
Not acceptable - Blue denim clothing, bandanas, t shirts/
vest tops, athletic/football style shorts/trousers/tops, rugby
shirts, tracksuit tops/trousers, cargo style trousers/shorts,
trainers, clothes with large logos or lettering.
In the Clubhouse - Smart casual dress may be worn at all
times in all rooms.
Gents - A collared shirt or turtle/polo neck top is required,
which must be worn tucked into full length trousers or
tailored knee length shorts.Not acceptable - In addition to the items listed above as not
acceptable on the course - golf shoes, trainers, golf caps or
headwear, waterproof jackets or trousers, beachwear, beach
sandals.
From midday on Sundays and Public Holidays smart trainers,
denim and t-shirts are acceptable. Football shirts, ripped/torn
clothing (even as part of the design) and athleisure remain
prohibited.
Players arriving at the Clubhouse incorrectly dressed
may enter the locker rooms using the outside locker room
entrances and change into appropriate dress before accessing
the Clubhouse or the course.
Members must also ensure that their guests comply with the
dress rules at all times.
17. DOGS
Dogs are not permitted in the Clubhouse, on the patio or on

CLUB RULES
Effective from 25th October 2018
1. NAME OF THE CLUB
The name of the Club will be Wollaton Park Golf Club
Limited referred to henceforth in these Club Rules as “the
Club”.
1.1 The object of the Club is to provide facilities for its members
and to promote participation in the sport of golf.
2. MANAGEMENT OF THE CLUB
2.1 The Club will be managed, in accordance with the Articles of
Association of the Companies Act and these Club Rules, by
the General Committee which will consist of the following
elected members of the Club, who will also act as Directors of
Wollaton Park Golf Club Limited:
The Chair of the General Committee
The Chair of Finance and Membership
The Chair of Course
The Chair of Competitions
The Chair of House and Social
Note: The positions of Chair of General Committee and Chair
of Finance and Membership to commence after the 2019
Annual General Meeting.
2.2 The General Committee will establish sub-committees as
appropriate and may co-opt members of the Club to serve on
them.
2.3 The Gentlemen’s Captain and Vice-Captain and the Ladies’
Captain and Vice-Captain will be members of sub-committees
related to golfing activities such as Course and Competitions
and can be invited to serve on other sub-committees if they
have a particular interest or expertise.
2.4 The General Manager shall be appointed as Company
Secretary and shall be entitled to attend and speak at meetings
of the General Committee, but shall not have a vote.
2.5 The Chair of the General Committee and the General
Manager shall be required to convene a minimum of 8
meetings of the General Committee in each year. In addition,
a meeting shall be called by the General Manager if requested
to do so by any 2 General Committee members.2.6 At least 7 days’ notice shall be given of meetings of the
General Committee, a quorum for which shall not be less than
3 members.
2.7 The Directors, Captains, Vice-Captains and co-opted members
of sub-committees shall not be entitled to remuneration in
respect of office or reimbursement of expenses incurred in
connection with attending meetings. Reimbursement of
expenses incurred representing the Club at external meetings
may only be paid if approved in advance by the General
Committee. Any privileges offered to these members must be
approved by the General Committee and published for the
information of members.
2.8 The Directors will publish for the information of members a
5-year rolling business plan at least two weeks in advance of
the Annual General Meeting.
2.9 In the event of a vacancy on the General Committee the
vacancy may be filled by co-opting an adult playing member
to serve until the next Annual General Meeting. Such co-
opted member will have full voting rights but will not act as a
director of Wollaton Park Golf Club Limited.
3. APPOINTMENT/ELECTION OF GENERAL COMMITTEE,
CAPTAINS AND VICE-CAPTAINS
3.1 A list for the nomination of General Committee members,
Captains and Vice-Captains to be elected for the ensuing year
will be placed on the notice board in the Clubhouse at least 35
days before the Annual General Meeting and will remain in
place until 21 days before the meeting, after which no further
nominations may be made for that year.
3.2 Nominees must be adult playing members, and must have
been adult playing members of the Club for at least 3 years.
Each nominee will have a proposer and seconder, both of
whom will be adult playing members.
3.3 The Gentlemen’s Captain and the Gentlemen’s Vice-Captain
will be gentlemen playing members, and will be nominated
by gentlemen playing members. The Ladies’ Captain and the
Ladies’ Vice-Captain will be lady playing members and will
be nominated by lady playing members. The Captains and
Vice-Captains for the forthcoming year will be elected by the
adult playing members at the Annual General Meeting of the
Club.
3.4 Members of the General Committee will be elected by the
adult playing members at the Annual General Meeting of the
Club for a maximum period of 3 years, following which they
may stand for re-election.3.5 If the number of candidates duly proposed and seconded
exceeds the number to be elected, voting will be by postal
ballot of all adult playing members. Returned ballot papers
will be scrutinised and votes counted by two members who
are not candidates or members of the General Committee.
These scrutineers will notify the names of the successful
candidates to the General Manager and these will be
announced at the Annual General Meeting.
3.6 The General Manager shall be appointed by the General
Committee.
3.7 In the event of a General Committee member being unable
to or failing to fulfil their responsibilities, or as a result
of misconduct, the appointment of such a member may
be terminated by a simple majority vote of the General
Committee or by a simple majority vote of a General Meeting
of members.
4. GENERAL MEETINGS OF THE CLUB
4.1 The Annual General Meeting of the Club will be held on the
fourth Thursday in October. At least 21 days’ notice of such
meeting will be posted on the notice board in the Clubhouse,
and a notice of the meeting, the agenda and a copy of the
accounts for the previous financial year will be emailed
or sent by post at least 14 days before the meeting to each
member entitled to attend.
4.2 Any member of the Club who is entitled to vote at the Annual
General Meeting may submit in writing to the General
Manager at least 28 days before that meeting, a notice of
motion, which will have been seconded and such motion will
be included on the agenda.
4.3 The General Committee may at any time call a Special
General Meeting. At least 21 days’ notice of such meeting will
be posted on the notice board in the Clubhouse and a notice
of the meeting and the agenda will be emailed or sent by post
at least 14 days before the meeting to each member entitled to
attend. No business other than that specified in the notice will
be transacted at a Special General Meeting.
4.4 A Special General Meeting will be held within 28 days of the
General Manager receiving a requisition in writing, signed
by not less than 30 adult playing members, clearly stating
the business to be transacted. At least 14 days’ notice of such
meeting will be posted on the notice board in the Clubhouse,
and a notice of the meeting and the agenda will be emailed
or sent by post at least 14 days before the meeting to each
member entitled to attend. No business other than that
specified in the notice will be transacted at a Special General
