❖ Generally 3 sections at each grade level. This year
   K and 2nd grade have 4 sections
❖ 2022-2023: 3 ADK sections, 1 half-day section

REGISTRATION INFORMATION
 ● If you haven’t turned in your registration paperwork,
             please do so as soon as possible.

           ● Set up your ParentVue account.
     New billing software PushCoin will be coming soon.

   ● Registration documents and information can be
              found on the Whittier website.

   ● Completed registration paperwork needs to be
     turned in and ParentVue accounts set up before
                   registration for ADK.

 ● All Day Kindergarten interest/registration form opens
                  on March 22 at 8:00 AM
  ● Questions? Call the Whittier office, 630-682-2185.

   ● Student absences should be reported to the main
     office by phone or email.

     (For ease of reporting absences we use this email!)
    When emailing the office, teachers can be cc’d if you would like them to
                                know too.

       ● ParentVue accounts should be reviewed and
                     updated regularly

     ● Student billing invoices should be paid in a timely
       manner. The District is implementing a new billing
        system called PushCoin. More information will
                              follow.
WHITTIER HEALTH OFFICE

We are looking forward to having your child at Whittier
next year! The next few slides will cover what you should
know about health requirements and information about
the health office.

● We are staffed by one nurse and one health aide
  daily

● We provide services such as chronic illness
  management, medication administration, first aid,
  care for children who become sick during the school
  day, and healthy living instruction.
HEALTH REQUIREMENTS FOR KINDERGARTEN

• Physical examination (State of Illinois Certificate of Child
  Health Examination) within one year of the start of school
                   ●  schedule an appointment now.
      ●   Students without physicals can be excluded from school
• Vision examination completed by an optometrist or
  ophthalmologist-due by October 15, 2023.
• Dental examination completed within 18 months of May
  15, 2024 (after November 15, 2022).
• You can find these forms in your Kindergarten registration
  packet or online at:
       •   Health Services / Medical Forms
MEDICATION POLICY & HEALTH CONCERNS
• Medications can be administered by the health office,
  if necessary.
    • Forms available online: Health Services / Medical Forms
• Notify the Health Office with any changes in your
  child’s health status or medications throughout the
  school year.
    • Allergies
    • Asthma
    • Diabetes
    • Vision or hearing concerns
    • Other-If OTC meds are needed, even including
      cough drops, rx would be required and they would
      be given in the health office

OUR KINDERGARTEN DAY
•   Greet children every day
•   Class Meetings/SEL lessons
•   Math block- calendar, math talk, counting routines,
    whole group lessons & small group centers
•   Literacy block- phonemic awareness, phonics,
    developmental written communication, listening
    comprehension, read aloud, shared reading
•   PE
•   Library
•   Snack
•   Social Studies or Science lessons
ALL DAY KINDERGARTEN
• Same curriculum as ½ Day Kindergarten
• Added time for review/extension of core
  subjects
• Choice Time/Free Play
• Recess/Lunch (30 minutes each)
• “Specials” classes:
