COMMUNITY WALK, BIKE OR DRIVE? PET OF THE MONTH HELP MAKE DENVER SAFER ZOEY Do you think cars drive too fast down your street or know of a sidewalk blind spot where cars cannot see you? Maybe you know a place where the bike lane could use more protection from traffic or does not connect through to your destination? Crash data only tells one side of the story, and we want to hear from Denver residents where they think our streets can be made safer. Denver residents and visitors are encouraged to visit denvergov.org/visionzero to take the map-based survey, select the location of their feedback, and add it to the map before April 30, 2017. Responses from the Vision Zero map- based survey will be used collectively by the city’s Vision Zero Technical Advisory Committee to identify patterns in behav- ior and street design to help set priorities for the Vision Zero Action Plan. COMMUNITY photo credit: John Prieto, The Denver Post STREET SWEEPING Spring is here, and soon, the street sweepers will be too! Denver’s residential street sweeping season begins Tuesday, April 4 and lasts until November. Denver Public Works is re- minding residents to remember to move their vehicles on their street sweeping day, so crews can sweep all the way to the curb line and provide the best service possible! Denver’s street sweeping program removes dirt and debris off the streets, so it stays out of our air and water. Residents are urged to follow the red and white signs posted on the block for street sweeping parking restrictions to avoid getting a ticket. Even if it appears a sweeper has cleaned the street, it’s still important to not park during the restricted times posted, as the sweep- er may need to return to the area to make another pass.
