Happy Spring!!!! As the days get longer and the temperatures rise, we all long to get out there and attend dog shows. But remember Covid is still among us. Get vaccinated when you can and continue to mask up, wash up and social distance. There is light at the end of the tunnel!! Enough on that. A reminder that ISCCC has two Specialties on May 16th at Tol- land, CT and as of now we will be supporting the entry at the Staten Island KC show on May 29th. It appears its full steam ahead for the National the week of June 14th so keep your fin- gers crossed. I am including the updated Calendar in the Blar- ney but remember it can change at any time. Thanks to all who took the time to attend the virtual General Membership Meeting in March. At least we could discuss a few things and get feedback from members. I welcome any thoughts you may have on any topic, so please do not hesitate to reach out to me. A special thanks to Gerry and Debbie H for doing such great jobs. Also, thanks to AMK for all her behind the scenes help. Look for the 2020 Annual Awards Form in the Blarney. I’m sure there will be some qualifiers for awards in this Covid year. Hope to see you all soon. Rick 4

Donovan GCHB Kilkenny's One Singular Sensation CDX BN CGCA 06/02/08 -03/10/21 I was always told when I got into Irish Setters and started breeding that one day a Special Dog would come into my life like no other. Well up until now every dog I had that passed away that I owned or bred were all so hard when they crossed the rainbow bridge. But Donovan was my heart and soul. Donovan was once in a life- time dog. He was my best friend. He went eve- rywhere with me. Donovan never left my side. He knew when I was happy or having a bad day. Donovan did everything I ever asked him to do. He was the first Irish Setter in the history of our breed to earn a Bronze Grand Champi- onship along with a CDX. He won the high- est scoring Irish Setter for a CDX award by The Irish Setter Club of America. He also won The Open Dog Award for winning the most Specialty Shows in the open class for Conformation. In the last year Donovan developed aspiration pneumonia a number of times and The University of Pennsylvania Veterinarian Hospital managed to pull him through every time. The last time he came home a happy boy. But unfortunately 2 weeks later he told me it was time for him to leave me. It was the hardest decision I ever had to make in my life. But I knew I had to let him run free. My heart will never be the same. A piece of me is with him forever. Until we meet again my sweet boy. I will always Love you. Lydia Miller 7
