Preschool Parent Information Registration opens January 20th at 8:00 a.m. Our Preschool is like no other. Inside each classroom is an environment created to provide opportunities to promote learning and a growing curiosity in each of our students. Here is what makes the New Prague Area School District Preschool program stand out from the rest: • Our top priority is to fulfill the need for your child to feel safe, secure, loved and a sense of belonging in the classroom then your child will learn. • All staff are trained in Conscious Discipline. A social and emotional intelligence classroom management program designed to give all staff the discipline skills they need to address the emotional and social issues of children. • The OWL curriculum and SEEDS of Literacy are comprehensive and research based. They align with the District’s learning goals and the MN State Standards. • Our Second Step Curriculum prepares children for Kindergarten with self-regulation and executive function skills that help them pay attention, remember directions, and control their behavior. • We use the COR Advantage Whole Child Assessment built on 36 items that are proven by research to best prepare child for school success. • The teachers are among the best. All of our licensed teachers hold early childhood degrees and have extensive experience in creating environments that promote learning. WRAP (our wrap-around childcare program) provides children with a developmentally appropriate full day experience. As parents you can be confident your children are receiving the education needed to prepare them for Kindergarten, as well as the care they need while you work, without the hassle of finding transportation. Our WRAP experience rounds out their day by providing: • Weekly theme based activities that focus on your child’s social, emotional and creative development. • Well trained staff who love children. Each member brings skills and knowledge that enhance each program. • Convenience for families. WRAP is open M-F from 6:15am-5:30pm at the CEC and Eagle View sites. • Enrollment WRAPS around your child’s preschool class with the option of adding non-preschool days and non- school days for a low additional cost. Why District 721 Preschool is for your child Every child loves to learn. Our preschool provides a warm, caring and positive place for learning. Our experienced teachers have 4 year or advanced degrees in Early Childhood Education and are licensed by the State of Minnesota. Every child is unique with special talents and abilities. Your child is treated as an individual, building on his or her strengths. Learning growth is tracked to meet the individualized needs of your child and to best plan for instruction. Preschool Transportation Information For qualified students, in an effort to provide more families an opportunity for their child to attend a school based preschool program, a mini-bus will be available for students that need transportation to and from preschool. Trans- portation opportunities will be limited to students in need. Below are a few of the guidelines that will be followed for children transported: • Pick up and drop off location must be the same location • There are no refunds for missed days • A child may be moved to a different preschool section than initially requested to honor the transportation request • A paraprofessional will accompany the bus Consideration goes to children who meet one or more of the following guidelines: • Are at risk for school success and parent cannot transport • Attends a licensed, in home daycare • Are home with an adult that cannot physically drive • Are home with an adult that does not have a vehicle to transport child Cost $45/month If you qualify and receive a preschool scholarship, your transportation cost will be discounted. Transportation cost will be added onto the monthly preschool tuition bill. To request an application please call the Early Learning office at 952-758-1674. Please turn in your transportation application at the same time you register for preschool. A preschool transportation committee will review all requests. Registration Information Preschool Registration Opens Wednesday, January 20, 2021 Register online at npaschools.org/community-education through our eleyo system. There is a $75 non-refundable registration fee that must accompany the preschool registration form. Checks should be made payable to District 721 Preschool. There is no registration fee for WRAP. You will receive an email confirmation of class placement by: March 5, 2021 Scholarships Available Tuition scholarships are available for families that qualify. Priority will be given to Pre-K children and families that return completed forms by August 1, 2021. Applications for scholarships will be emailed to families after July 1, 2021.
