I want to give a shout-out to our newly-appointed Captain at Large, Ling Sigstedt and Co-Captain, Francie Dudrey of the Communications team for your awesome work and dedication in getting everything going strongly again. I look forward to working with both of you. I hope many of you were able to join us on May 23rd for our Spring Fundraiser. We heard from four representatives of our incredible Con- gressional Delegation, CD1 Congresswoman Diana DeGette, CD2 Congressman Joe Neguse, CD6 Congressman Jason Crow and Senator Michael Bennet. Now that COVID and vaccinations are moving in the right direction, we are excited that our house districts are planning their summer events – make sure to save the date for our annual DPOD Summer Picnic on August 15th. I look forward to seeing many of you at these events or on Zoom meetings. Most importantly, be sure to stay safe and if you are not already, get vaccinated. A lifelong Democrat, Betsy grew up in Ohio and moved to Denver in 1983. Her first involvement in the Democratic Party was with the 1972 McGovern campaign. She has been a Precinct Organizer (PCP) since 2004 in House District 9 and consistently has one of the highest voter turnouts in Denver. She also serves in a leading role on the Creden- tials Committee and is always actively involved in her house district. PRIDE MONTH June is Pride Month Denver Democrats wants to wish the LGBTQIA+ community a happy Pride Month. A core tenet of our beliefs is that every person should be treated equally and fairly, regardless of race, gender, faith, national origin, sexuality, orientation, age or ability. Pride Month is a great way to not only celebrate this vibrant community, but also bring awareness to important issues and provide education on what we can do support equality efforts.
