CANCELLATIONS
The Coventry Parks and Recreation Department
reserves the right to cancel a program due to
insufficient registration, or any other cause, that
prevents the presentation of an activity in an
acceptable manner.
If schools cancel or close early due to inclement
weather, or any other reason, then all after school
recreation programs will also be cancelled.

Grades 1-6 NASA: Academy of Future Space Explorers - Participate in activities that explore the playful side of
science. This is a program of hands-on activities and stunning demonstrations. One time fee covers
instruction, materials, and take-home projects. Classes include:
Space Travel —Learn what it takes to be a true globetrotter. Build your own Shuttle Copter to take home.
Atmosphere & Beyond —Explore the atmosphere on Earth & beyond. Make & take Shimmering Stars!
Planets & Moons —Take a “mad” planetary tour and bring home a Kepler’s Cube!
Living in Space — Experience life as an astronaut . Make your own Cosmic Chronometer.
Fee: $50.00 residents and non-residents

Coventry Teen Center
                                              Grades 6-12
A safe and clean space for Coventry youth to enjoy at NO COST. Our goal at the Teen Center is
to create a fun and enriching experience in a supervised environment. Teens have access to
Wi-Fi and are encouraged to bring their Chromebooks to work on their homework or school
projects. There is ping-pong, air hockey, pool tables, board games, Young Adult novels, video
games, and a Ms. Pac Man machine. Teens also have the option to participate in daily
activities and themed monthly events.
The Teen Center is located at 668 Washington Street and is open Monday - Thursday
2:30-6:30pm and Friday 2:30-8:30pm. The Teen Center will be CLOSED on the following dates:
April 15 - 19, and May 27. The Teen Center will CLOSE for the year on June 13, 2019 and will
re-open in September.
Those interested in joining the Teen Center are welcome to one visit prior to registering as a
member. Stop in for a full schedule of events, which includes: arts and crafts, holiday themed
events, and movie night every Friday!

            All classes held at the Guy L. Lefebvre Community Center unless otherwise noted.

Resistance Training
Ages 16+ Improves muscular strength and endurance. During a resistance training workout you move your
limbs against resistance provided by your body weight, gravity, bands, and dumbbells. Must provide own
weights.
Fee: $45.00 residents; $65.00 non-residents
Mondays & Wednesdays, March 25 - May 20, 7:15pm-8:15pm (No class on 3/27, 4/15, 4/17, and 5/15)

Yoga
Ages 18+ Heal your body through gentle movement and relaxation. Yoga mat required.

Meet-up with others who enjoy pickleball. So what's pickleball? It's a sport that resembles tennis but a
paddle is used to hit a ball similar to a Wiffle ball, on a badminton-sized court.

This informal meet-up is designed to get local tennis players together to PLAY and most importantly, have
