friendship with Alan Fitzgerald, Rays son, who in
their youth, caused damage to Ray’s house because
of a misguided football! John as a solicitor reminded
Ray that such acts were of minor vandalism were
now statute barred and as such he felt safe in

Venice, despite having a marvellous food
market, is not renowned for its cuisine. Good
restaurants in Venice are expensive, but good
piazzas and spag bol are available and panini
(sandwiches). Avoid around San Marco, very
