on the Vltava river, Prague is home to about 1.3 million people, while
its metropolitan area is estimated to have a population of 2.7 million.
The city has more than ten major museums, along with numerous theatres,
galleries, cinemas and other historical exhibits. An extensive modern public
transportation system connects the city. It is home to a wide range of public and
private schools, including Charles University in Prague, the oldest university
in Central Europe.
Prague is mostly famous for being the capital of Czech Republic, therefore
being called the Heart of Europe due to Czech Republic being the heart of
Europe. Architecture is very well-preserved in the entire Czech Republic, so
tourists mostly think those beautiful buildings are only in our capital city.
Prague has a reputation as a musical and cultural city as well. It has a strong
jazz tradition with clubs (Bill Clinton played there during a visit) and an annual
festival. It also has two international classical music festivals, the Prague Spring,
founded just after WWII, which is world-famous, and a Dvořák festival in the
autumn. The Estates Theatre, where Mozart conducted the world premier of
his opera Don Giovanni, still produces plays and operas.

Guide for International Delegates
The summer months bring the warmest weather with high temperatures around
21 to 23°C, but this time also brings a bit more rain. For the driest weather and
mild temperatures, plan your visit in the second half of April or between mid-
September and mid-October which tend to experience less precipitation and
comfortable temperatures ranging from 14 to 19°C.
September is a wonderful time to be in Prague, with especially pleasant
temperatures. The average high is 19°C and the low at 9°C, while crowds are
now diminishing as the month progresses. There isn’t as much precipitation,
with 27mm fewer than in August. While days are getting shorter, even by late
September there are still almost 12 hours of daylight, with sunrise at 7 a.m. at
sunset at 6:43 p.m., providing lots of time for taking in the sights. Packing clothing
that can be layered is recommended. In the morning, a warm sweater or jacket
is usually necessary, but by afternoon, short sleeves and possibly shorts may be
more appropriate. When evening comes, that jacket or sweater is likely to come
out again. (Average Max Temperature: 19°C. Average Precipitation: 39mm.).
Transport within Prague, Czech Republic:
Prague has one of the best public transportation systems in Europe. The metro,
trams and buses are used by two-thirds of Prague’s population and cover the
majority of the city and outskirts. The metro especially makes getting around
town a breeze since it enables you to cover long distances in a matter of minutes.
If you can’t continue to your destination on foot, you’ll be able to catch a tram or
bus from near the subway station.
We take public transport in Prague all the time. It is easy, reliable, and very
affordable. The only times you may want to consider driving or taking a taxi are
commute times. You will be stuck in traffic but you’ll avoid being crammed into
a tram or metro car full to the brim with your fellow passengers.
The best way to get around Prague is on foot or by public transportation. Exploring
this city on foot is a treat for the eyes, plus many of the most noteworthy
attractions are within walking distance of one another. There is an extensive
public transportation system that includes bus, tram and subway lines.

Changes made within 14 days of the event may incur costs due to specific hotel and
venue policies
Cancellation Policy:
Registration cancellations will not be accepted unless made in writing.
Cancellations request made before June 29, 2020 will be refunded less 25% of the
Conference Registration fee, to cover administration costs.
No registration refunds will be processed after this date, however, substitute delegates
are welcome.
