Throughout the course you will discover and be immersed in the
enormous possibilities of image making in the 21st century! Starting
with a strong focus on ideas, technique and hands on approaches
to your image making you will be guided through digital workflow,
image composition and creative output.
As your creative vision gathers momentum you will expand your
photography to include more complex lighting, narrative, content
production and video.
Mentoring, attendance at overseas photography festivals meeting
international practitioners and completion of real world projects,
combined with your expert teaching staff, ensure that you will

You start by discovering and exploring the range of creative possibilities
offered by your camera and digital technology. You develop a set of
practical skills in professional workflow, capture, technique, lighting
and screen/print output. You will also explore a range of contemporary
approaches to photographic practice and visual storytelling. Through a
variety of projects and assignments you’ll have an opportunity to explore

The second year extends your work within both the studio and on-location,
whilst also developing an increasing confidence in your skills as a visual
communicator. You will further extend your technical skills in the studio, as
well as video production and further workflow.
You broaden your horizons by exploring professional practice and outcomes
in a range of photographic genres. You experience working with external
clients, the possibilities of overseas photography festivals, publishing and
exhibiting your work.

In the final year you select a major in either Commercial, Photojournalism
or Art photography. You will be mentored closely, preparing a final
major project to exhibition or publication standard. You are exposed to
