Family Health Center Resident
M.D.s coming to CHRC
We are thrilled that NH Dartmouth Family
Medicine at Concord Hospital is once again
able to send Residents to the Concord
Homeless Resource Center (RC). They
are coming as a part of their Population
Health ("POP") rotation. We used to host
the Family Health Center's "Downtown
Clinic" at the RC, but due to COVID, that
had to stop. Dr. Sahil Gupta was the first to
visit. We will have residents coming as they
are available, as they make an effort to get
out into the Concord community. Dr.Gupta
helped a guest fill out paperwork to get
records from Concord Hospital, and talked Dr.Gupta talking with staff at the RC.
to many guests about any medical
concerns they had. He's also hoping to get
future residents to do presentations on how
COVID spreads in the air and is
transmitted.
Dr. Katie Rice was our second Resident.
In this photo we see her working with a
guest on some open wound issues and
other medical things.... while being a
wonderful listener.
This program will provide guests withhealth info and be a medical resource in a
trusted space with whom they can talk
about getting treatment or share other
medical concerns.

Concord Housing First Program
Twenty-four individuals have been housed through the Housing First program since it first
began in 2016 and we are currently working with twp more individuals to find them an
apartment in the Concord area. Once she has helped find clients a home, our Housing
First Specialist, Lisa Rowley, provides ongoing support to each individual while they are a
part of the program.
Six people have been in the program for over 3 years each! This shows the stability this
program can create in a person's life, helping them to attain the goals they choose and
supporting them in everyday life.
Update on Robert
After many years of homelessness,
CCEH assisted Robert in obtaining
housing in April of 2019.
In October of that year he had a
serious stroke and has spent 295
days at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical
Center. Robert has finally been
discharged and has begun his next
chapter in life at a long-term care
nursing home in the Concord area.
Julie Green, CCEH's Clinical Director
of Case Management, has been a
consistent support and advocate,
lifting Robert's voice, and she
continued to encourage Robert not to
give up HOPE during some of his
darkest days. From hospital visits,

him with the dignity he deserves.
Having begun the project last year by
creating proper drainage, planting
shrubs and annuals, our dedicated
volunteers are continuing their work!
The coordinator and planner of all
this work is the amazing Ruth
Axelrod, Master Gardener. Big shout-
out to Karen Densmore, Program
Director for the Friends RSVP
program, who showed up several
days and dug the "rain garden" all by
herself!
In the photo (on left), Pellettieri
employees Kristy Youmell, Fine
Gardening Director, and Jason
Brooks (who helped figure out how toposition the soaker hose in the rain
garden for the irrigation system),
spread the mulch and planted
impatients. They also spread a pile of
dirt for us, and not only installed the
irrigation hose throughout, but also
put it on a timer so it will self-water.
All of this in 100 degree heat!
The beautiful results are evident in
the photos! We are SO grateful! Such
beauty lifts all our spirits.
See our BEAUTIFUL garden
behind the Tom Fredenburg
House/CCEH offices!
Many many thanks to Pellettieri
Associates, Inc. for the amazing
landscaping and supplies they have
donated to our "back yard" space.
Guests and staff enjoy this view every
day at the new outdoor Resource
Center!
Hanes Donates Masks!!
THANK YOU Hanes Brands Inc. for
donating 3,000 reusable masks to the
Concord Homeless Resource Center.
It is so great to be able to hand these out to
help to keep the entire community safe!
Julie Green, Clinical Director of Case
Management, hands out a pack of 3 masks
to RC guest, Josh.

THANKS TO YOU, the BBQ Sold Out!!
CCEH's first-ever Bluegrass BBQ was simply wonderful! The weather was perfect, our
volunteers were rock solid, our guests were full of smiles. Oh, and the food was D-E-L-I-C-
I-O-U-S! As one guest said, "The brisket melted in my mouth!"
This event simply wouldn't have been possible without:
Bill Wilcox (President of Wilcox & Barton Inc. - the event's Palladium Sponsor and
CCEH Pillar of Support), his Rock House BBQ 25-ft. smoker, and his incredible
BBQ chef'ing skills, and...
all of the time and energy of the Concord Food Co-op (In-kind BBQ Sponsor and
CCEH Pillar of Support) who provided kitchen space, countless staff hours,
marekting and advertising, and did all of the ordering of food and supplies for the
event.
The music was senstational! Thank you to Paul Hubert, Prodigal Son, Bow
Junction and Peabody’s Coal Train for donating their time and talents!
Of course, this event was such a huge success thanks to the outpouring of support by theGreater Concord community - the 39 local businesses who sponsored the event and
the guests who purchased over 250 meals! All of the proceeds go directly to CCEH to
continue the work we do across our programs (Concord Homeless Resource Center,
Emergency Winter Shelter, Concord Housing First, and Green Street Apartments).

THANKS TO YOU, our donors and volunteers...
In July, we were open 22 days and...
had about 42 guests each day...
...saw 190 unique individuals, and 6 new guests
...guests took 128 showers and did 20 loads of laundry
If you have been thinking about coming back as a volunteer, we would LOVE to have you!
Opportunities include:
Serving coffee to guests (no more self-service coffee due to sanitation protocols)
Monitoring the guests' use of the showers and laundry
Both require a smiling face (underneath your masks, of course!) and any availabililty
between 9AM and 12PM, Monday through Friday.
By having volunteers here to help, it frees up our Case Management team to be able to
spend more time working one-on-one with guests and working with other community
providers to achieve our goal of safe, affordable, decent and stable housing for all!
Oh, also, we always can use help on projects around the Tom Fredenburg House - handy-
persons, interior painters, organizers... seems like there's a project for just about anyone
who's interested!
Here are some photos of one of If you have a couple of hours to
our weekly volunteers, Cathy, spare and would like to join us at
handing out the ever-popular the Resource Center one morning,

several hundred guests annually with dignity and
respect.

ongoing case management to date.
CCEH's 40-bed Emergency Winter Shelter provides
safety and a warm bed for homeless individuals who
would otherwise have to "sleep rough" during Concord's
