Nursery to Kindergarten After-School Program 2nd slot of activities from 4:35 p.m. to 5:25 p.m. Aftercare from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. As a reminder, if you register your child for an After-School Activity during slot 2 or slot 3, and you do not intend to pick up your child at the end of the school day and return to school for the selected slot 2 or slot 3 activity, you also need to select an activity for the previous slots (including Study Hall).This does not apply for Individual Music Lessons that last 30 minutes: aftercare will be provided for the half hour before or after the lesson.

Through arts and crafts students will get to explore cultures, fashions, celebrations, music and all the amazing different things that our world has to offer. Through a series of workshops, students will learn some information about a civilization and its art. Let’s start exploring and enjoy the enormous cultural heritage of our world! Chefs for Kids with Chefs for Impact and Miriam Tangara - PreK and Kindergarten only - in English NEW! Through growing, cooking, taste testing, and composting, the Chefs For Kids program transforms students' relationship with food & demonstrates how eating healthy can be fun, tasty, and good for the environment. This hands-on 17-week program hosted by rotating guests such as esteemed chefs, farmers, & artists, exposes students to where & how their food is grown, and how to use all of those yummy fruits and vegetables through cooking and crafts. Choir with Anselmo Academy, in English Our preschool Choir class encourages social and cognitive development in the very young who love to sing. Choir class is focusing on building language, physical, singing as well as listening skills. We will work on pitch matching in a fun and engaging way. Students will learn about their speaking and singing voices and work on blending unison melodies! Cooking with Émilie Aguerre, in English Kids love to create wonderful dishes in the kitchen. In this perfect introduction to dance, we will explore creative movement, ballet, and Broadway musical theater. The children will learn the art of story-telling through music and movement with classical music and fun filled songs. They will also learn skills like listening and how to follow instructions, working alongside their peers, taking turns, setting goals and feeling the excitement of achieving them! Discover Mandarin with Christine Kaplan, in Mandarin This activity will focus on Mandarin conversational skills and cultural activities. Students will learn about the pieces and rules of the game. There will also be the opportunity to participate in an interscholastic tournament at the end of the semester. Recommended for students who have little or no knowledge of chess. Krav Maga with Swan Kids, in English Krav Maga is the world's best self-defense method, it is also insanely fun & very practical. We teach simple but incredibly effective techniques that help kids’ agility and mobility. Lego with Ben Hayes, in English Join Ben Hayes to create amazing things from Lego! Little Ecologists with Little Ecologists - PreK and Kindergarten only - In French Little Ecologists is a French after-school program that reconnects kids to nature and celebrate the Earth. We empower children to develop eco-friendly habits, to further their critical thinking and social integration, and to stimulate their creative faculties. Students will learn how to care for the environment while having fun. They will develop strong environmental awareness and take active steps for a better planet.

In our Math Games & Activities class, the children will develop their mathematical thoughts through engaged conversations and activities. Introducing simple math concepts, such as sorting, finding patterns, or counting up to 100 will offer the children a targeted practice with key skills for early learners. Our goal is to guide each child to overcome any challenges that they may encounter in mathematical activities, allow them to have fun, and love math! Raconte-moi une histoire with Lucie Assogba, in French NEW! Raconte-moi une histoire is designed to help children ages 3 to 5 organize and tell a story. This will allow them to discover different worlds, real or imaginary, and to acquire a varied vocabulary. Since books are an excellent stimulation tool for children, this activity will give them a taste for reading. Robotics with Swan Kids, in English This activity combines the STEM principles into a seamless program, customized for all ages. Our students learn how to apply all four areas in designing, programming & building their gadgets that come to life at their command. Rhythmic Gymnastics with Émilie Aguerre, in English Come dance and play with a ribbon, rope, hoop or ball! Rhythmic Gymnastics is a fun activity that helps develop flexibility, agility, dexterity, strength and coordination. Soccer with Soccer Shots, in English Children learn the basic fundamentals of soccer in a fun environment of games and challenges. Team Sports with Ben Hayes, in English Join Ben Hayes and get ready to run, jump, and exercise in a variety of sports and activities! Tennis with Tennis Innovators, in English At our Maternelle Building, students will learn the basics of tennis while having a blast!
Nursery to Kindergarten After-School Program Descriptions of the Activities Théâtre with Marie Jo Cima, in French Join Marie Jo Cima for some fun theater classes! This activity emphasizes the creativity, enjoyment, and personal growth of each child. Through drama games, movement, music, and vocal exercises, kids will explore self-expression and gain confidence. Toddlers learn to listen to each other, respect each other and play all together on stage. Virtual Reality Adventures with Swan Kids - PreK and Kindergarten only - in English NEW! The students will learn how virtual reality works, go through different games and exercises that develop critical thinking, leadership skills and enhanced teamwork. The class will introduce concepts such as set development, coding basics, gyroscopic sensors, accelerators, and magnetometers. The idea is to teach kids the science of VR while using the advanced technology to improve their interpersonal communication. Children utilize a variety of materials to build props , characters, and fantastical mini movie sets to feature in original stop-motion animation films. Experiment with combining live action with animation, as well as effects like drawing on each frame, and utilizing green screens and stock footage. Children learn to create their own sounds and special effects to add to their shorts as they work in post-production finishing their animated shorts. Kids will explore various stop-motion and digital animation techniques and create a variety of both 2D as well as 3D projects. Arabic with Fawzia Mohamed, in Arabic This activity will focus on conversational Arabic skills and cultural activities. Arts with Danielle Richard, in English The After-School Art program dives into the techniques, processes and skills that students can use to develop their own unique, personally meaningful art practice. Danielle’s workshop is centered on creative problem solving, critical thinking, curiosity, play, and self-discovery taught through the fine art mediums: drawing, painting, printmaking, and three-dimensional design. DJ with Noise 212, in English Children learn the fundamentals of music production as they create their own personal beats and mixes. Fencing with Manhattan Fencing, in English This program is designed for beginner, intermediate, and competitive fencers in foil. No experience necessary! The program includes fitness instruction, games, skill training, tactics/strategy, competitive bouts, and more. Fencing develops discipline, balance, coordination, quick reflexes, mental acuity, and good sportsmanship. Equipment is provided. Guitar Group Class with Anselmo Academy, in English This entry-level guitar and songwriting class is designed as a practical course and will focus on techniques that will help students expand on their ideas for lyrics and thematic content. Essential guitar skills and basic note-reading will be taught in a fun, supportive setting which will allow students to blossom at their own pace.
1st – 2nd Grade After-School Program Descriptions of the Activities Gymnastics with Swan Kids, in English In this novice class, children will be introduced to the fundamentals of gymnastics. Gymnasts will develop a solid understanding of skills & learn basic movements such as cartwheels, handstands, bridges, etc. while gaining strength, flexibility, and kinesthetic awareness! All this is done according to guidelines set by USAG gymnastics. Intro to Chess with Growing Minds, in English This is a fun, interactive introduction to chess for young children through stories and games. Whether you are Dr. Jekyll or Mr. Hyde, it's time to let out your inner mad scientist. Learn the science of slime, build a flying rocket, put an egg in a bottle, or turn it into a bouncy ball. In this fun class we will be experimenting with the weird and wacky side of science. Prepare to thrill your mind, challenge your beliefs, and definitely get just a little bit messy! This class focuses on appropriate concepts in chemistry, biology, natural sciences, and real-world physics applications. It is designed to inspire the child and connect them to the versatile applications of scientific principles in the modern world. Musical Theater with Anselmo Academy, in English Let's start our journey to the stage: Musical Theater we will tackle everything from singing, acting, and voice technique to prep us for the final show of the year, a Broadway songs review! What’s a review? It is a 30-minute show showcasing songs from all your favorite Broadway shows! Sign up to sing and have an Amazing time! Music Videos with CinemaKidz, in English NEW! Kids become art directors, cinematographers, movie-stars, and dancers as they plan, storyboard, film, and finally edit their very own music video. Children will utilize professional filmmaking equipment and dive into art direction as they create costumes and props for the video. Students will work with a choreographer to plan awesome visuals and make up their very own moves. Participants will learn how to create unique moods as they experiment with using lights, gels, various camera lenses, and more. After working on their production, participants will get down to editing and learning awesome tricks of the trade to make an epic video. Children also have the opportunity to create an original song and/or lyrics.
1st – 2nd Grade After-School Program Descriptions of the Activities Piano Group Class with Anselmo Academy, in English All children will be encouraged to learn basic music & piano skills, including introduction to piano, listening, singing, and clapping, followed by note reading and writing, music theory, history, piano/keyboard skills, and much more! During these group classes children also learn social skills and will enjoy learning music together in a very positive and friendly environment. Robotics & Sciences with Swan Kids, in English This class inspires children to connect with the fun and approachable side of science by teaching them to create robots, rockets, and other exciting items of their own design. A very interactive course that takes kids through the basics of robotic construction/design, circuit building, alternative energy sources, custom robots/machinery, appropriate concepts in chemistry, biology, natural sciences, and real-world physics applications. Special Effects Moviemaking with CinemaKidz, in English NEW! Enter the upside down world with CinemaKidz! Learn how to create amazing visual effects, awesome make-up looks, prosthetics, props, and costumes to use in an original Stranger Kidz Film. Kids will get creative as they try their hand at various special effects techniques: building prosthetics and masks, combining Claymation, and live action video, experimenting with the potential of green screens, practicing various camera tricks, utilizing stock videos, video filters, and much more! Participants will learn how to make movies from start to finish as they plan, write, film, and edit one awesome Stranger Things inspired science-fiction based project, utilizing professional software including Adobe Premiere Pro. Study Hall with Teachers & Staff, in English and in French Children get help with homework and projects from our teachers & instructors. Tae Kwon Do with Lauren Marquez, in English Not your typical Tae Kwon Do class: everything we learn seeks to answer the question of being the most effective sparrer possible. Pads don't hit back, if it doesn't work in sparring, we do not teach it. This is a sparring focused Olympic port Tae Kwon Do class. Distance, footwork, attacking, counterattacking. It's better than any video game. Gear is mandatory to participate. Team Sports with Ben Hayes, in English Join Ben Hayes and get ready to run, jump, and exercise in a variety of sports and activities!
1st – 2nd Grade After-School Program Descriptions of the Activities Tennis with Tennis Innovators, in English Tennis Innovators will introduce players to all of the tennis strokes and connect them to specific footwork and body mechanics. Players will play in both cooperative and competitive drills and games as they develop their rallying, consistency and tactics. We will begin introducing competitive point play and match play. Include private bus transportation to Tennis Innovators venue (15-20 minutes) located at 500 8th Avenue btw. 35th & 36th Streets. This activity lasts till 5:40pm (2 slots). Théâtre with Marie Jo Cima, in French Students focus on improvisation, scene study, and many different acting styles in a fun, expansive theatrical exploration. They will invent stories that their peers will play. They learn how to listen to each other and create as a group with their imagination and characters. They learn principle and technics of acting (respiration and diction). Yoga with Cara Frey, in English Stretch and build a strong body by learning yoga postures and relaxation techniques.

During these sessions, the coach will follow the 5 step-approach developed by the FFF and the French Ministry of Education. Focusing on drills to improve the children’s skills, the coach will start with warm up and exercises with or without the ball, followed by a focus on ball skills to develop the children’s skills individually and as a team. They will end the sessions with a game. Tuesdays and Thursdays – Winter Season: $870 • This represents 20 sessions of 90 minutes each • Jerseys are provided • One FFF coach will supervise a maximum of twelve children • Registrations are made and payments are due per Season Possibility to register for one weekly session only: Tuesdays only – Winter Season: $390 • This represents 9 sessions of 90 minutes each (see chart) Thursdays only – Winter Season: $480 • This represents 11 sessions of 90 minutes each (see chart)
